Put up 49 on Michigan St... Wasn't able to watch Ohio State game today because of work but that is impressive no matter how they scored... If our defense plays like they did today Ohio St will be much closer to their first 2 games average.

I've watched all their games, the only team that has been able to slow them down lately was the #1 rush defense in the country on top of their game. Barrett has not been as focused in some games, not as sharp versus PSU and Illinois as he has been usually. Maybe the early start on the road the week after a big game will have him off his game again. OSU did force MSU to abandon their power run game by having a sizeable lead on them in the second half, obviously you don't want to let them have a big lead and be forced to throw a lot to make a comeback. OSU is a lot different than they were at the beginning of the year, a lot more variety to the offense and the OL has improved.

OSU is as good as any team in the country, and we're going to have to put on our big boy pants to keep this close. Our best chance for an upset will be if the weather is a factor.

TCU still scored its fewest points on the Gophers…and they've played a lot of impressive teams. When our defense is doing what it needs to do, I'd put it next to any defense in the B1G. Our special teams are certainly better than OSUs special teams. So it goes back to our offense. It was our offense that gave TCU such great field position that enabled them to score (and it is still the fewest points they have scored all year). Leidner certainly looked good and Williams looked so good that I am worrying we might only have him for one more year and we know what Cobb can do and he will be rested…I give us a chance at a gigantic upset…

I mentioned this in the other games thread, but I think Ohio St is poised for a letdown. Huge win against a top 10 team last night, an arrogant coach who will never believe Minnesota can compete, players who haven't seen Minnesota in years. Fan base will spend the entire week dreaming of a National Playoffs entry and find it impossible to believe they don't win by 20 this week. Good coaches will see through all that and prepare their team. Let's see if Meyer is able to do that, or if they look surprised when Minnesota punches back.

They've never lost a regular season conference game under their current coach, so I'm not sure why you think all those things about them.

They are a pretty disciplined football team and they'll come to play.

If they had lost, yes, a letdown would have seemed plausible, but OSU has so much to play for after undressing MSU's defense. Not to mention, the Buckeyes haven't lost a regular season game under Meyer. OSU reminds me a lot of MSU last season. ... early season struggles but turning into a juggernaut. All that said, what a statement about the Gopher program if they can beat the Buckeyes.

I'm hoping for below zero temps and a malfunctioning field turf warming system.

We also had a huge win (by our standards anyway) and our team could just as easily be poised for a letdown. Our players have also gone years without seeing Ohio State. If the defense and special teams play as well as they are capable of playing and the offense shows the variety and efficiency they did against Iowa, then an upset is possible but it will be a stunner if it happens.

OSU can do it all offensively. Elliott is really good, Barrett can run and throw, their O-Line is solid, and they have a few playmakers at WR. I think our best bet is to load up on the run and make them beat our DB's. That's the strength of our defense and if they beat us that way then so be it.

Defensively I wouldn't call them great. If we mix it up and execute like we did yesterday I think we can score some points. Their D-Line is legit though.

I would recommend NOT deferring against Ohio state.

I don't think the Gophers will be able to match up against OSU very well, at all, however...

... a quick look at their schedule and outside of MSU (yes, on the road), they have beaten absolutely NOBODY worth noting. Holy crap, what a schedule it's turned out to be for them. And their finishing slate isn't exactly daunting either (home games against Mich and Indiana?). Who would have thought at the beginning of the season that the Buckeyes would actually have arguably the easiest schedule of any team in the B1G?

If the 2nd most difficult game on your schedule is a road game at TCF, you are the beneficiary of one gigantic gift of a schedule. Obviously that's a pretty good reason why they will likely be on the outside looking in when it comes to the playoff.

11 penalties on MSU sure didn't help their cause but they still managed 536 yards of offense and over 50% conversion rate on 3rd down.

I think the Gophers style of taking the air out of the ball will make it a LITTLE tougher for OSU to maintain the offensive rhythm they're used to but I just don't see them staying with OSU in this one.

I'm with Sparlimb on this one, it's got trap game written all over it for the Buckeyes. They're coming off a big win, on the road for the second week in a row, early start time, cold weather, a supposedly inferior opponent. Upset in the making on this one.

Reading an OSU board and their fans have a prediction thread up. Out of 9 guesses the average score so far is 48-17 in favor of OSU of course.

Ohio State has been destroying every team in their way, including at #8 Michigan State. I don't blame their fans for thinking they'll do the same against us. We'll have to be on our A+ game to keep it competitive and have a chance. And the colder the weather, the better. Make those defensive players dread having to tackle Cobb and Maye 30 times or so.

Whichever team showed up to play Penn State, that's the team we need to see on Saturday.

Anyone else wish we would see a little bit more of Rodrick Williams in the 3rd and 4th quarters? The defense is a little fatigued and then we throw a beast of a RB who is fresh at them. He just runs so hard.

Even if it is just four or five carries on a drive. The pile seems to always fall forward when he carries the ball.

If we play them close or by a miracle edge them, TCU will be the beneficiary.

TCU doesn't need us to help them. They should be undefeated and they don't have anyone left on the schedule who can beat them, plus no conference championship game helps as well. I said it last night, it's not implausible that both Baylor and TCU get in.

And in 15 degree weather, something tells me those OSU defenders won't be incredibly eager to have to bring him down. I agree!

I think we have a great chance against the Buckeyes. Just win the turnover margin and keep their defense off balance, and we will win!

I will repeat:

WHO HATES OHIO STATE???

Ohio St. isn't going to overlook a team that they are playing on the road that just beat Iowa 51-7. Especially when their next game is at home against Indiana.

If we play like we did on Saturday, it's going to be quite the game...
