Coach Brewster told Mona he expects to sign or garner one and possibly two verbals for Wednesday's LOI Day. Any guesses?

He also talked briefly about Junior Day at the U yesterday. Said coach Mike Grant was in attendance as well. Obviously he can't talk specifics but he's pleased with the Minnesota (state) recruits (2009 and 2020) and that defensive and offensive lineman are the position/players that have the greater chance to be redshirted and skill players have the best chance of seeing playing time quickly. Talked briefly about Carufel, Royston, and Reeves, Gray and Wills are in classes now and they will especially benefit with spring participation. Decker will play baseball this spring for the Gophers. Weber will practice but will be held out from full contact . . . surgery went well.

Brewster also said Gopher baseball needs a new stadium.

Spring game will be outdoors but no site has been selected yet but will be within a couple weeks.

Go Gophers!!

Here's hoping Brewster has a stellar in-state recruiting year in 2009. Also, nice to hear Brewster shilling for other Gopher sports!

Hope it comes true. Brew is simply a guy that sets the bar high and keeps plugging away until he gets it. We will see. Probably reason for optimism, but whether it happens or not, we will know Wed.

Having taken the evil neighbor off my presets

Its good to see Coach Brewster is still, as he said, recruiting 24/7. As far as CCO is concerned, Coach Brewster sells well on Sunday but where will that CCO sports staff, Dark, Eric, and Minnie Max be come Wednesday? Will the have a live remote from the Signing Party? Will they have cut ins from the Signing Party, doubtfull. Will they ignore, downplay, or outright bash the recruits and Coach Brewster from the confines of the studio and use that stance for calls? That's their ticket.

It just slays me that Joel, the U and Learfield cannot see the conflict of interest. The only thing that makes sense, is Learfield negotiated a heck of a rate to lease the clear channel blow torch, and they collectively hold their noses each time CCO fouls the airways with their bashing of the team.

Thanks for the recap!
Seconded!
Also, looking forward to see who will be the last minute signing - whoever they may be (I have zero inside information; heck, I barely have outside information).

I would guess Trabis Ward, the guy who just visited. Anybody know how his visit went?

Good call on both, it'd huge for the baseball team to get a new stadium and for basketball to get a practice facility.

I heard they were gonna be two kill shots...

A joke. I kid.

It'd rule to add some D line help though obviously...

There's a thread in the other sports forum on the baseball stadium. Not a lot of news recently. A recent article (which I forgot to post in the baseball stadium thread) said the plans/design have been finalized and now they need to raise the money. If I remember correctly, the overall cost will be $15million and they need $7.5million before they start building. All $$ will come from donations. Hopefully former players step up! The baseball team (especially John Anderson) is very deserving of a legitimate field. Siebert is a huge POS. Disgraceful and I'm not kidding. Anyone that has been there would agree.

Let's hope that Beau Allen showed up. I want him to sign even more than Henderson! We could use the DL help.
