Don't know if anyone already posted, but this is ESPN talking about if the Longhorns' current O Coordinator is fired which he probably will be.

"At any rate, Bobby Burton of 247Sports.com offers more possibilities if Davis is canned. In addition to Dana Holgorsen, Gus Malzahn and Major Applewhite, who are mentioned below, Burton brings up: Alabama OC Jim McElwain, Wisconsin OL coach/run game coordinator Bob Bostad, former Minnesota coach Tim Brewster (whose son is a Longhorns S), former Kansas coach Mark Mangino, Kansas co-OC/WR coach Darrell Wyatt, UCLA OC/QB coach Norm Chow and Tennessee OC Jim Chaney."

I was offered the job yesterday. Longhorn nation all the way baby.

When you think of a guy with a real identity when it comes to offense, you think of Tim Brewster.

This is complete nonsense. I don't know what kinda crack Bobby Burton has been smoking, but I'll say this. I don't know which would be worse. Greg Davis or Tim Brewster.

He can come back to Texas and coordinate recruiting. But offense? Hell no!

That'd be the worst possible outcome IMO. Fire Greg Davis, hire Tim Brewster as OC? I'd climb the nearest tower and jump! Someone should punch Burton in the crotch for suggesting such a thing.

I can't believe it wouldn't be Applewhite, unless they are demanding Brown go outside the family. I am interested to see where Brewster will land.

Bobstad we might be looking at as an O-line coach/run game coordinator.

Norm Chow? Bah! No way. Terrible fit.

Mangino? Bah! Again, terrible fit (as if he could fit into anything).

I think Burton is just throwing a bunch of names up against the wall to see which ones stick. Why he included Brewster, Chow, and Mangino is beyond me. I'd be completely shocked if any of them were even interviewed.

There's a chance it could be. He and Muschamp seem to see eye-to-eye on the state of the program and the direction in which they'd like to see it go. I think most Texas fans are expecting Applewhite to be retained while we hire a OC. That way he can learn more and get more experience as many think he is being groomed as the OC of the future. A lot of the moves that are rumored to be taking place are supposedly blessed by Muschamp, since this will be his team in the near future. The word is that Muschamp wants a young, energetic, smart coach that is a relentless recruiter. Applewhite is all of those. But now may not be the time. I'm hoping we can get Holgerson for a couple years so Applewhite can learn a few things from him and then take over when Holgerson gets a HC offer.

wishbone?

Well obviously he was an offensive genius here with 3 OC's here in 3 years. Why not return Longhorn Nation back to the wishbone and it's glory days?

I am very very excited

I couldn't be more pleased - If you wanna get some you gotta bring some!

Just because Brewster's coaching was offensive to football fans, doesn't mean he should be coaching offense.

He is loved in texas, this isn't the first or last time he'll be mentioned as possiibly coming back to that program. If he does I don't think it'll be as a coordinator (unless it is a recruiting coordinator).
