from the Big East has TCU moving to their conference, dashing the BSU's hopes of an automatic bid. Maybe there's an opening in the MWC for Brewster.

that's somewhat different than the radio report I heard a few minutes ago, but it was a BSU woe-is-me we're not in the Nat Champ game station

It would make more sense for them to replace Colorado or Nebraska in the Big 12, but allegedly, the other Texas schools are adamant about keeping TCU out.

There's no benefit to them adding TCU. Doesn't help them keep a championship game. TCU doesn't move the needle from a TV perspective or gain them any new TV markets. It's another slice of the pie when it comes to money.

People obsess over Geography, the SEC and Big Ten are the only two where geography really matters. They aren't adding another team to add another team. They are adding a team for TV. The TV money offsets the travel costs many times over. Which is why if the Big 12 had completely disbanded, Iowa State, Kansas, and Kansas State would have been additions to the Big East. Who cares if you have to pay for a thousand extra plane tickets per year at two hundred bucks a piece. Being in a major conference will bring you more than the 200,000 you'd lose on travel costs.

The only way I see the Big12 expanding (to 12) is by adding a pair like Arkansas and Memphis. The Geography is not a stretch at all, but still expands their footprint in a lucrative way.

I don't expect Arkansas to want to leave the SEC, but if there is one team which could possibly benefit by leaving the SEC, it is Arkansas, given its geography and historical ties to some of the Texas and Oklahoma schools.

IMO, If the Big 12 expands it would be Colorado State or Air Force (to get back into the Denver Market) as one team. And UNLV or Nevada (I know Vegas is not a college town, but to have a footprint in that market has the potential to be huge). Memphis would have an outside shot at being the team. Or maybe they could steal Louisville away from the Big East.

I doubt UNLV. I live in Vegas and college football is small potatoes here.
