Q. Players who miss a class or team meeting have to wear jerseys with pink lettering that say “Minnesota Lophers” on the front and “I let my teammates down” on the back. How have players responded to your methods?

A. “I don’t know what was done in the past. I’m going to do what I’m used to doing. I’ve been doing the same things for the last 28 years, this is my 29th year. We’re trying not only to build a football program but teach life lessons to young men, how to do things right. I guess some people call that demanding. I call that what you’re supposed to be doing. I think the players have responded well.”
