Call me what you would like, but I think everyone should get themselves mentally prepared for a huge letdown in the second half. I hope they don't, but mark my words: Minnesota will lose this game.

I will brace nothing sir.

NOTHING!

As I sit here at Williams. I am nervous. Damn minnesota sports mentality!

And you don't think everyone on this board is well aware of our second-half struggles? Do you feel this is a daring and bold prediction? Will this post make you feel better about yourself if it happens? Are you expecting us to award you a prize? What is your point?

You never cease to amaze me. Your posts grow more predictable by the day.

okay......here goes.......you are one of the most TIRING posters on this board. your move governor.

You'll have to forgive me if I had no confidence in the Gophers down the stretch. It's not like they have proven to me, or anyone else for that matter, that they can hold leads against decent teams.
But none of that matters, I guess. I'm sure you're going to tell me how worthless my opinion is and that you were 100 percent positive the team was going to pull off the upset.
It's funny how one win at home can make everyone forget about losses to Portland, Indiana, Michigan (at home), Northwestern and Miami.
GO GOPHERS!!!

When the one win is against your biggest rival and they are ranked, it does help. I won't forget the losses but have somewhat forgiven them after tonight's performance.

You are correct. That is all ancient history. Tonite the Gophers rule the world. Stomping the Badgers, absolutely priceless. And a national TV audience to witness the crushing. How sweet it is.:D

You are amazing...You invite us to call you what we would like, and when we do, the mods remove them. I'll repeat one of the removed ones that said you are a dumbass, and mine that said you are an a$$hole. Stick it.

Grab another Blatz Doc and let it ride. Tonight is for celebrating.

While this is certainly one of the top 10 "Goofy Posts by BigGopherFan" it hardly outdoes your #1:

"This is being written off pure emotion, but I am sorely disappointed with the Golden Gophers. Overtime against an 0-9 team!? If this isn't proof of where this program stands, I don't know what is..."

(after the Gophers beat Penn State (0-11 after the game) 66-64 on a buzzer beater by Westbrook)

I'm impressed by one thing: you're persistent in demonstrating your inability to live up to your moniker.

WHY do you insist in doing this to yourself?

Give it a rest dude. Try and enjoy the win, man. Get out and go bowling or something to relax.

+1,000,000

When someone asks us to "MARK HIS WORDS", it should come as no great surprise when we do just that.

201, as you know, I am a very ""unopinionated"" fan of the Minnesota Gophers. I do not predict gloom and doom every game, so I can say, "See, I told you so." All I do is root for the Gophers, be it Men's or Women's sports, and drink beer, get up the next day and look forward to the next event. Enjoy your Corona(s). See you tonight for the game.

Go Gophers!!!

p.s. Just what the hell is a Hoosier?

We need to get you out of your shell. :D

I can't start the Corona's this early or I will be napping at game time. I like earlier start times!

Regarding Hoosier, from the wik:

Hoosier (pronounced /ˈhuːʒər/) is the official demonym for a resident of the U.S. State of Indiana. Although residents of most U.S. states typically adopt a derivative of the state name, e.g., Indianan or Indianian, natives of Indiana never use these demonyms. The State of Indiana adopted the nickname "Hoosier State" more than 150 years ago.[1] "Hoosiers" is also the mascot for the Indiana University athletic teams and the title of an award-winning 1986 movie Hoosiers starring Gene Hackman, based on the story of the 1954 Milan High School basketball team and its road to winning the state championship. The word Hoosier is sometimes used in the names of Indiana-based businesses. In the Indiana High School Athletic Association, seven active athletic conferences and one disbanded conference have the word Hoosier in their names, the conferences names are Hoosier Athletic, Hoosier Crossroads, Hoosier Heartland, Hoosier Heritage, Hoosier Hills, Mid-Hoosier, and Northeast Hoosier with Northwest Hoosier being the disbanded conference.

In other parts of the country, the word has been adapted for other uses (see Other uses). In St. Louis, Missouri, the word is used in a derogatory fashion in similar context to "hick" or "white trash".[2] “Hoosier” also refers to the cotton-stowers, both black and white, who moved cotton bales from docks to the holds of ships, forcing the bales in tightly by means of jackscrews. A low-status job, it nevertheless is referred to in various sea shanty lyrics. For example, Shanties from the Seven Seas[3] includes lyrics that reference hoosiers

Thank you 201. By the definition then, of "white trash", I'll be doggoned...I am a hoosier.

When I was gainfully employed I had cause to travel to Terre Haute on a lengthy project. While there I asked the locals on several occasions what a Hoosier was. From multiple lifelong Indiana residents I heard this answer. Residents of Indiana were so inbred that upon meeting one another they would ask "Who's your mama?" to see if they were related.

Hence Hoosier.

I have to add that this is NOT one of the explanations you will find via Google.

:)

201, then from your experiences in real life and my real life experiences...You and I are related, because your mother and my mother were mothers. Finally, it is all making sense. :)
