Bowl games no longer the end of the current season?

Does it make more sense now in the NIL/open transfer/everyone sitting for the draft era to think of it as the next season preview? If teams in a bowl are missing 25 players maybe they could let incoming transfers play in the non-playoff bowls. Wouldn’t that be wild.
