Bostick didn't travel with team to Miami

Was there any outside shooting to miss? I remember him shooting about as well Bleed last year.

He was 10-27 (37% -3pt) in non-conference games-pretty good. 4-24 (16% 3 pt%) in conference games-terrible. If you recall as I do his minutes were very sparse and inconsistent in conference play. Tough for a shooter. I would bet he would be in our top 2 leading scorers if he got 20 minutes a game.

I obviously don't know the things Tubby knows about defensive stats, etc- so I'm not saying he earned 20 minutes at all - I'm looking at the scoring aspect. Tubby is stubborn about defensive effort - that's his deal and it's a good thing. I think a different coach would have Bostick playing a lot considering the offensive issues we have. That's not a knock on Tubby.

He definitely had that one game where he knocked down a ton of 3's though so he might be good for one of those in any game we play him in.

This team needs offence, he might bring offence. I wish he was playing (not saying he should be playing I have no idea what happened).

I completely agree with this take. Bostick is one of the best, if not the best pure scorer on this Gopher team. Difficult to quantify defensive effort, but his skill set fills one of the Gophers' biggest needs.

I also find it particularly amusing the lengths to which one must go around these parts to clarify that they are not criticizing Tubby, lest you feel the wrath of the masses.

Didn't someone say he had mono? Could that be part of the reason he's not ready? Otherwise he's been practicing, so while I'm sure he's rusty, he wouldn't be any more rusty then anyone playing thier first game of the season?

I had heard that he had mono, though not sure if that was a rumor or an actual report.

Regardless, if he did / does have mono, much like Orseske on the football side, doctor's will advise he stay out of contact situations for up to 21 days after diagnosis for fear of ruptured spleen - which is both unpleasant and life-threatening, though not necessarily in that order. This could conceivably be the reason for all this, but that's essentially pure speculation.
