It looks like Bostick has been reinstated by Tubby. I get a copy of the game notes for the games and in the one for Butler Bostick was starred as a will not play along with White and Mbakwa but in the one for the Miami game he is not starred while the other two still are. This should at least provide some more depth for the squad and hopefully he comes back with a chip on his shoulder and plays well.

With a little luck maybe he can be the player this year that many of us thought he would be last year.

I doubt he sees much time tomorrow night (hopefully I am wrong), I think Tubby is going to make him earn his minutes like last year. I doubt we see him for more than 7 or 8 minutes tomorrow night.

at this point

any warm body that can play a few minutes and at least provide some potential for scoring would be appreciated.

Do we know if he has been practicing? I lost track with the three suspended players. If I remember correctly, White has been told to stay away. But I think Devron and Trevor have been practicing. I think Tubby has said in the past that you earn gametime through hard work in practice. If I'm right (and that's a lot of ifs!) maybe Devron will be able step in right away. Or maybe that's just wishful thinking...

Glad to hear Devron's back. Hope he learned from the experience and becomes a contributor for what we hope ends up being a NCAA-quality squad. Any additional bodies that can play will help. I'd rather have 11 scholarship bodies at my disposal than 10.

Bostick has ability on offense that this team lacks. I hope his defense is good enough to get him floor time. He could help if given consistent minutes. Last year he got jerked quickly often for his defense. Tough to get in rythym on offense that way.

>>Last year he got jerked quickly often for his defense.<<

That's not to say that former juco players can't develop a fine defensive game (we've seen a few at the Barn in recent seasons), but the premier scorers in juco often struggle with D-I defense.

Excellent news.

I hope he gets some minutes wednesday. We can use some fresh legs and an offensive boost.

I don't know if he'll make much of an impact this year when we're at full strength, but his shooting may have made the difference in the two games we lost in Anaheim, esp the Texas A&M game.

I don't want to sound like Debbie Downer, but it's not like the Gophers are getting back LeBron James.

This is a guy who averaged 11 minutes and 4 points per game last season.

While he did some nice things at the very end of last season, he is a guy who only played more than 10 minutes once over the final 13 games of the regular season (didn't play in two of those games). He scored two or fewer points in 11 of those games.

Yes, it's good that he's back. But I'm not sure he would have or could have made a difference in either game the Gophers lost last weekend.

Wonder what the conditions were for his return, maybe a clean UA? He's supposedly in better shape and many JUCOs have made big leaps in year two of their transfer. He can't be any colder than Hoffarber was the past two games.

I am cautiously optimistic about Bostick coming back. I hope he is ready to contribute to the team, but we won't know until we see him out there.
