i dunno, that offense is pretty good. Just imagine if he tweaked it to take advantage of Gray's talents and then after 2 seasons had things in place with Parrish.
 


I love the Badger offense. Reminds me a lot of the Nebraska offenses under Bob Devaney when Jerry Tagge was the QB. Those Nebraska offenses did feature a fair amount of option (especially when co-QB Van Brownson was on the field).

Where these offenses are similar is in straight-ahead power with some neat little wrinkles thrown in.

+1. Its just the idea of a Badger who is buds with Maturi already rolling in to coach us after a 6 week search that irks me. If he was going to be the guy, get him signed, give him the platinum card, and send him out on the recruiting trail.
 

Maturi tried to go big and didn't get any takers, he doubled back and now is talking to his family friends.

That would be disappointing to me as well. Not Chryst so much as that the whole enterprise would have ended up being much ado about a decent, but not top-drawer, coaching candidate. But who knows, if it ends up being Chryst, it may be will turn out alright.
 




Think about it from the recruits perspective. I wouldn't want the OC from Wisconsin to be my head coach, I want the head coach from Wisconsin to be my head coach. If a decision were between the two.
 

Ball control offense with points means other teams offense not on field and not scoring points. Bielma has a hawkeye tattoo.
 

I would be A-OK with a Chryst hire, even if that makes me a pariah here.
 



Bring his Offensive line

I'm all for it if he brings his offensive line with him. I watched them push the Ohio State defensive line back three yards on most running plays. That team is all about that line.
 

This would be the quintessential Maturi hire.

And...what exactly have all of the former Badger coaches we've had in the past few years down for the gopher program??
 

With the exception of Davis, the guys we have were either let go or saw the hand writing on the wall when BB took over. That does not make them bad coaches, but they were not kept on staff when Alvarez moved up.

From what I understand Big B was not on staff near as long as many of the coaches there. There were a lot of hard feelings when he was picked over many of the other long time coaches.
 




I'm more warm to Chryst than I was just a couple weeks ago. Hard to argue with the offensive numbers they've put up this year and I love the smash-mouth style of ball they run.

This isn't speculation people, start thinking about buyouts and staffs. Not only staffs but also staff spouses.....do you think that many wives are keen from moving away from SDSU or anywhere else warm? If you live in Madison. or anywhere else in the midwest you have to view Minneapolis as the crown jewel. Trust me, Chryst is in the mix!
