Everyone has a right to do what they want to do at the game. But we are all Gopher fans and want what is best for the football program. Saturday is a critical recruiting day as there are as I understand many top recruits atttending the game as well as Joe Coleman. Booing the team as well as "fire Brewster" or "bench Weber" chants really don't help the program out and really show how fickle our fan base can be. Let's be supportive-the coaching situation will work it self out after the season.

Sorry if this has been said before but I feel very strongly about this!

I'd like to recommend that everyone in the place chant "Cheat-ers, Cheat-ers" every time the officials throw a flag on USC.

I won't be chanting anything bad about the rodents or staff. I'm guessing MOST of the people on GH understand the damage this can create. However, good luck with that plea with the student section as well as many of the other people attending the game. Making the request is great... having the Gophers make a statement and stay in the game from the opening kickoff to the game's end will be better. I think THAT is the only thing that will keep the negativity in check.

I'm firmly in the anti-booing crowd, I just wish the football staff would log in under their real names.

Tap, I had the exact same thought. I actually emailed MV over at FBT about this yesterday. This is a huge recruiting weekend and we really need to show our support for the team.

I'll admit that I do boo on a rare occasion, mostly aimed at bad calls by referees. I do not like the chanting that directs itself to a player or coach. Having said that, if the Gophers play like they did last saturday you won't need boos and chants to make it a bad recruiting day.

I won't come out booing, but I admit I'm not above it.

I'll come out golf-clapping and "Go Gophers"-ing. The play on the field will determine whether that rises to fist-pumping and yelling, or eye-rolling and booing.

Call it fickle, but I guess I'm a results guy. My response varies according to the product. Serve me a crummy lunch and I say, "YUCK." Serve me a great one and I'll fall all over myself begging for more.

So, what you're saying is that you would boo your mother for serving you a meal that was not up to your satisfaction.

Sign me up for booze and chance too.

If she served me the lunch equivalent of last Saturday's Gopher's game? Hmm, let's see that would be a lunch that caused me to immediately run into the bathroom and lose it out both ends. That would be a lunch that left me sick for days. That would be a lunch that despite her excellent cooking skills she threw together with rancid meat and curdled milk and didn't give a hoot about.

My mom would never serve me such a lunch, but in the hypothetical situation that she did?

Yeah, I'd let her know.

Yeah, I'd let her know.

"O.K. mom...lets talk about your performance these past few months in the kitchen. I know you've been trying hard, and there are some leftovers that we need to get through before you can head out of Whole Foods and spend a wad of cash on higher quality foodstuffs. No...just let me finish...it's not easy for me either. Dad and I have discussed this, and we both think that it is in the best interests of this family that you clean out your bedside table. I'll always treasure our holidays together, and I hope you have a soft landing with a loving family, but sadly...it's time you move on."

Maximus-If you are refering to me about being a staff member-I am not. I saw my first live Gopher game in 1967 (Gophers 20 Mich 15). My second game was 1968 usc and oj. I am an alumni of the 70's and season ticket holder for a long time. I just hope the student section show support.

"Son, let me tell you about this lunch I'm going to serve you today. It's gonna be great. In fact, it's gonna be TREMENDOUS. I have better ingredients than I've ever had before. I've changed the style of cooking to one that suits my skills the best. I've even brought in a couple of sous-chefs to help me cook this meal. People that eat whatever I put in front of them insist that this meal is much improved over what I've served you in the past. And you can rest assured that I'm honing my skills with the goal of winning a cook-off in the not too distant future."

If the players are the best we have, it's not their fault that the coaches didn't get any better players. Boo the coaches if you must, but not the players.

"Honey, please. Son, just sit over there. Let's not fight about this. Son, if you don't stop chanting 'FIRE MOM, FIRE MOM', you're grounded. Can't we just enjoy the magnificent new dining room? We spared no expense in building this dining room. Whatever mom puts on the table will be fine with me, as long as it's just fine for everyone else as well".

Damn...I'm getting hungry.

Do not forget that many of the best ingredients never made it to the kitchen as they were unable to be properly certified as organic.

Crummy post.....YUCK.....Booooooooooo

Dad? I thought we talked about you and Gopherhole not being good for eachother.

I can't speak for anybody else, but if the Gophers are getting blown out by USC, and I'm sufficiently disgusted by their performance, I'll boo. I'll be booing Brewster and whichever players are not performing. I booed last week, I've booed before, I've participated in Fire Mason chants, and if somebody can get one started, I'll participate in a Fire Brewster chant. Maybe I'm just a negative nelly (does that qualify me for a job at KFAN?)
