Just finished reading Keith Dunnavant's revised and updated biographical work "COACH: The Life of Paul "Bear" Bryant." I highly recommend the book! It's a shorter version of Allen Bara's "The Last Coach," which I also thoroughly enjoyed.

Dunnavant treats Coach Bryant fairly - personal strengths, weaknesses, foibles, coaching philosophy, successes and failures and his impact on the college game, etc. His philosophy on recruiting and how he would attract the players to the schools where he was head coach - Maryland, Kentucky, Texas A&M, and Alabama - was very interesting.

Bryant won six national titles at Alabama.

I wish someone would write an in-depth biography about Bernie Bierman; winning five national titles within eight years is worthy of such a work.
