A week or so ago there was a nice thread on how to design new uniforms for the Golden Gophers. There were quite a few pictures of different styles people came up with. One of the pictures featured a picture of Goldys outline on the helmet and the poster wasn't sure how a large Goldy would look. Last night's Las Vegas bowl game featured Boise State with an outline of their bronco mascot on their helmets. I thought it looked very cool and think Goldy on our helmets would look very nice too. I'm not very good at loading things like that into these threads, but maybe the person who made the Goldy helmet could transfer it from the other thread so others could see it. Merry Christmas to all

Dr. Don, the poster was descriptive in his title. If you expected the post to be about recruiting or player development, why did you click on it since it talked about helmets? The topic is more than appropriate, IMO.

i did a bunch of different options. this was actually my favorite helmet, and least favorite uni.
 

Bleed, sorry I ruffled feathers. But the reason I dislike threads about our uniforms or other teams' uniforms, is that I maintain that the uniform does not make a player. Whatever the Gophers wear, I will still root for them. Please accept my apologies for crossing the line on giving my opinion.

you have to understand that many of us do care about the image portrayed by the team. as an art director i love seeing progressive uni ideas thrown around. at the very least it gives us something to talk about.

There are many aspects of being a Gopher fan, watching the game is obviously the most important but it doesn't mean that we can't talk about uniforms, tailgating, the band, the stadium, etc. None of those make the team, but it's part of the experience. Please stop commenting on EVERY thread about unis, it's old.
 

I enjoy talking about uniforms and helmet styles myself. It's just another aspect of the overall football package and it is a perfectly acceptable topic. People who dislike or don't care about the topic have every right in the world to not click on it, and by doing that, problem solved! See how easy all that is?
 




Funny that schools that are known for their academics generally don't screw around with these ghetto jerseys that look like the hip hop attire that I generally only see on public transportation.

You do realize that your opinion was basically telling someone that they should not post their opinion.

I mean my god, the title of the thread says Boise State helmets. Not even Gopher helmets, Boise State. Even better, the guy had a smiley face thing next to the subject and ends his post by wishing everyone a merry christmas.

Just a thought but maybe you should consider ditching the whole "warm beer > no beer" bit with the cheerleader smiley faces after each of your posts before complaining about fluff content on the message board.
 

Maybe this has been addressed in a different thread--- but bear with me:

Do we know that Jerry Kill is going to replace the current uniforms?

I don't know the guy, but judging from what he's said so far, I'm guessing uniform color scheme and design are off his radar and pretty far down the priority totem poll.
