In the Dylan documentary by Scorsese, Dylan basically dissed his first album. It's mostly cover versions of old folk songs with just a couple of originals. I think his quote was something like, "as soon as I heard it, I wanted to forget it and record a new album." He also questioned his choice of material.

Totally agree with Robert on this take. Man of Constant Sorrow, In My Time of Dying, Keep My Grave Clean sung my a 20yo kid from northern MN? Don't take yourself so seriously, man.
