Some fun things to look at:

- After Iowa's first drive, our defense gave up a total of 48 yards on 35 plays over 10 drives (before the last drive in garbage time).
- After Iowa's first drive, Iowa was 1 for 9 on 3rd downs.
- TOP: MN 36:42 to IA 23:18
- Five different players had at least five rushes and averaged at least 4.4 yards a carry.
- Our passing defense continues to be excellent against the pass. Iowa averaged just 4 yards an attempt. Leidner averaged 10.6.
- +3 on turnovers

There are others but just some that stood out to me.

I think that Iowa only had 9 yards in the 2nd half until their last drive in garbage time. At one point, they were -11 or something like that.

For fun, you should calculate Leidner's QB rating. Very solid game from him through the air, not to mention the rushing yards as well.

ESPN's QBR gave him a 95.4. The highest you can get is 100.

Those look like DII numbers to me.

In all seriousness, it's great watching Leidner improve. He's had some very good games this year.

My favorite number is 1.5, which is the number of quarters the Iowa fan sitting by me stayed before he left because he couldn't take it anymore.

I didn't get the exact numbers, as I was at the game, but I think Iowa only had about 20 yards total offense over the middle of the 2nd quarter until the last drive of the 4th. Anyone have the real numbers?

Not sure how accurate it is, but the "Drives" tab on ESPN shows they had 20 yards of offense from the drive that started at the 12:59 mark in the 2nd quarter to the last drive of the game. That's 20 yards on 23 plays and eight drives.

That's absurd. The defense was just out of their minds today. Big ups once again go to Claeys and Co over there. We were so much faster than Iowa...it looked like the were playing in slow motion. That said, we also dominated the LOS. Faster and dominate upfront is a good combo. Love it.

He must have anticipated what was coming. It was 14-7 with 7:50 left in the 2nd quarter. We scored 21 points in the last 6:49 of the half.

Defense was unreal, and we are going to need a similar performance next week against the Buckeyes to have any shot. Watching them dismantle Michigan State's defense right now so our guys are going to have their hands full.

Most points against Iowa since 1949, biggest winning margin since Hawkeyes gave up on Fry in 1998, most points in B1G game since 2006.

Baazzinga!!!!

Going into today, I believe that Iowa had only given up 7 red zone TDs.

Today, they gave up 5. The D. Jones score came from 44 yards out.

This doesn't show up in the stats, but the most impressive number for me is the amount of times Iowa's vaunted offensive line, led by supposed first rounder Schreff, got pushed around and manhandled...largely by a couple of true freshmen.

Scherff got beat by our 3rd string DE late in the game as well. Ben Perry just plain beat him 1 on 1 and almost forced a safety.

Also the number of yards per carry for Weisman.

The Gophers defense is now ranked 5th in the country (1st in the BT) in allowing just 5.49 yards a pass attempt.

We're also 9th in the country in yards per completion on offense at 14.85 yards.

Here's a good stat. In conference games Mitch Leidner leads the Big Ten in yards per pass attempt (8.8).

My favorite stat yesterday was scoring on the opening drive of the 2nd half after leading 35-7. That was twisting the knife and something Mason teams never did

Yep, that's when I finally relaxed. (Can't help it--too many nightmare games)

Correct me if I'm wrong, I can't fully remember, but wasn't Iowa's only other third down conversion on their 2nd drive of the game? That's what really stuck out to me, I remember commenting on how well they were converting on third down on their first drive and their first third down of their second drive and how they didn't have another third down conversion for the rest of the game.
