Just a retired high school football coach who has transitioned into authorship. I feel blessed that forums like Gopherhole.com that allow me to share my blogs. The coaching fraternity is one of the last great bastions of America. I hope you enjoy.. RG

Thanks for sharing this! It reminds me of an Albert Einstein quote. It went something like, "We spend all this time reading books and learning from them, but at some point its time to write your own book." I just bought your book on Amazon. In case anyone cares, I'm planning to retire next summer and have promised myself that in retirement I will volunteer to teach illiterate adults to read (the local library has a program). I'm also toying with writing some kind of book. Still not sure of a topic, but in recent years I have really started thinking about what has made life worth living, and have I truly made a positive difference in at least one person's life.

You just made my day brother. The longer I coached the more emphasis I placed on things that help build life long lessons and character. I think being a head coach at the end of my career was a true blessing. Congrats on retirement and your plans...much respect. If I can help at all with your writing goals, don't hesitate to email. [email protected]. Thanks again for the feedback and comment...best of luck

Here’s a premise you can use, if you want:

A story about a man who sacrifices his dreams to help his community but faces financial ruin and despair on Christmas Eve, leading him to contemplate suicide; his guardian angel, intervenes, showing him how the world would be a darker place without him, ultimately making him realize the profound impact he's had, leading to a joyous community celebration where friends and family rally to save him and his building & loan.
