It's time to start our yearly bubble exercise. We're about a week early this season, but thought I'd throw one atcha' as a warm-up for the next several weeks.

Below are snapshot resumes of 5 bubble teams, but their names and RPIs aren't provided. You are the Selection Committee, and you only have 2 at-large spots available. Which 2 would you take?

I will reveal the teams at approximately 3:15 p.m. If you think you've figured out who any of these teams are, I ask that you don't post the name(s). Good luck, and there are no right or wrong answers, only opinions.

I'll take A and D for the combo of top 50/100 wins, bad losses, and best 3 wins.

You'd really mess with people's heads if you listed the worst 3 losses. What up Virginia?

B & D, but I'm not enthralled with any of these. Defintely not E, though.

I would take A and D, thought about C but the 5 bad losses are the main reason I didn't choose them.

A and B

C's bad losses too much
D's got no road/neutral v Top 100
E and B are close

A & B even though I don't like A's Nonconference SOS. C too many bad losses.

C is the easiest choice. I'd go with A next.

The final tally

For the record, I chose B and C.

Our esteemed GopherHole "Selection Committee" chose A and B for the final 2 at-large spots. The voting went as follows:

A: 5
B: 5
C: 3
D: 3
E: 0

Sliding into the tournament were A (Charlotte/#55 RPI) from the A-10 and B (Creighton/#50 RPI) of the Missouri Valley.

Missing out were C (Indiana State/#59 RPI) from the Missouri Valley, D (Iowa State/#53 RPI) of the Big 12, and E (Ole Miss/#48 RPI) of the SEC.

Thanks for participating. We'll reconvene sometime next week.

Are Creighton and Ole Miss really on the bubble? I thought those two were in the top 15 or 20 of the AP just 2 or 3 weeks ago, have they both fallen off significantly since then? I also remember seeing headlines a little while back saying that Ole Miss could compete for the SEC crown this year (which isn't saying a whole lot I suppose).

If Creighton and Ole Miss aren't on the bubble, they're very close to it. I'd say Creighton has more wiggle room than Ole Miss.
