The pass he caught and subsequent 3 he made when we trailed 49-48 was enormous. His man was in position to steal that pass until Blake jumped in front of him. Then he hit another 3 on the next possession.
 

He's not just a shooting specialist, he does a lot of good things on the court besides scoring. But when he is shooting well also, Blake is a game changer!
 

At the start of the game, Blake, then Joseph, then Westbrook scored and I thought all three were going to be ON tonigh. How nice would that be? Joseph was quite, but didn't select bad shots, Westbrook provided, but faded away, while Blake did exactly what we need him to do.
 

he always seems to play good against the bad teams though. It bugs me, but I won't complain about a win.
 


What really impressed me was that he had such a strong floor game overall IMO.

Yeah, he scored 20 pts, but he also had a team-high 7 boards, a number of great assists through traffic for dunks, layups, and even took it strong to the hoop a number of times.

Bottom line, the kid has really improved his overall game over the past few years, and has become a VERY important part of this team.
 


Huge rebound toward the end of the game on a free throw. Great pass to Sampson for an easy basket. Unselfish feed to Westbrook for a layup. Also the difference between the two teams last night. Without him the Gophers were not going to get a W.
 




Look at his stats when the team wins and loses. Basically, it is how Blake goes is how the Gophers go. He had a great game and has had an unreal season for the Gophers.

That shot he hit as the shot clock was expiring probably saved them the game. Heck of an effort he had. Any team would be happy to have him.
 

The bounce pass he made through traffic was a thing of beauty. He had to thread the thing perfectly and he got it there.

There's a reason for this. Good teams generally have bigger, more athletic wings and smart coaches. They know that stopping Blake goes a long way towards stopping the Gophers, and basically keep a guy in his shorts for the entire game.

While Blake is as fundamentally sound as they come, he isn't on par with the elite athletes in college basketball. When facing tougher opponents, he needs the help of his teammates and coaches to find open looks. That hasn't been happening consistently this season, but I'd argue that the blame for that doesn't really fall on the Hoff as much as everyone else.
 


I don't think its that he plays poorly against the bad teams, I think better teams figure out they have to guard him all the time he's on the floor. that being said, I don't think NW is a bad team.

Fair point, and what I kind of meant on my first post in the thread.
