A couple buddies and I designated the nickname Hollywood Robinson to Hoffarber. If you Remember Robinson was a one-tool three point shooter for the MN t-wolves years ago.

What other nicknames do you guys have for current players?

That would mean that all Hoffarber is good for is camping out beyond the 3 point line to shoot threes. You must not watch any games, or have any real basketball knowledge to honestly think that is all he does.

I have a great basketball mind actually. I can honestly say that is all he does. 74% of his shots this year have been three pointers. 78% of his field goal scoring has come from three point shots. He has also been incredibly streaky over his career like Hollywood. And if you honestly think Hoffarber plays good D, you are mistaken my friend. He is incredibly slow, and can't stay with any guard that has any amount of talent. I would question your basketball knowledge. Look at the numbers, they don't lie.

You give yourself too much credit.

Blake rebounds well for a guard.

Blake is a solid passer.

Blake can move without the ball when needed. He doesn't cut as much to the hoop due to the offense run.

You are correct about his defense. He is pretty slow on defense.

Blake could play for any team in the country because of his shooting.

Imagine if we had the front line of Trevor-Royce-Ralph-Colt-D.J.... He would have more open looks and become that much more dangerous.

Hollywood Robinson was fun to watch for a few games. If Hollywood would have worked on his game instead of his shot, he might have lasted longer.

Terrible nickname

That is a terrible nickname. No ring to it. Please develop some creativity before you bring crap like this to the board.

James Hollywood Robinson was an undersized 2, that played some point guard. He was streaky yes, but not a three point gunner that sat out on the three point line. He reminds me nothing of Hoff.

And Hoff is hardly streaky. If he's getting legit good looks, he's a pretty consistent shooter. When he has to go out of his way to get a shot off, that's when he's in trouble. Too bad this team doesn't attempt to get him open often.

What numbers? Please provide a link to numbers that support your assertions that...

1. "He is incredibly slow..."
2. "He can't stay with any guard that has any amount of talent."

As for streaky, I will start any streaky guy that has a composit 47% from three point territory. and leads the Big Ten.

As for your great basketball mind, can you please share with us your playing and coaching resume. Perhaps Mr. Maturi will be interested.

Oh, good: another pissing contest about who knows more than the other guy about basketball. ...

Simple question for you: Who would you rather have guarding the opposing players best guard. Lawrence Westbrook or Blake? Lawrence may be quicker, but loses his player constantly, gambles, gives up wide open shots and doesnt box out. Or Blake who is slower of foot, but keeps his hands up contests shots and is the best rebounding guard on the team.

Good Defense does not equal quickness. There is alot more that goes into it!

I'll never understand the amount of abuse that Blake takes on this board.

he can't dribble and this is a fact, and anyone who says different doesn't know basketball. JUST LOOK AT HOW HIGH HE DRIBBLES!

I didn't start this post intending to rip Blake...Hollywood Robinson shot 57% the year he was with the wolves. The thread was more a tribute to Blake's shooting ability, although I do think Blake is one dimensional. He is streaky in the sense he doesn't always show up in big games, but I still think he is the team's best scorer.

Keep your lame inside jokes between you and your buddies, please. I have a feeling you're the only ones who find it funny.

How many times has he gotten the ball stolen from him when dribbling?? He may not have great moves but he protects the ball.
