How soon before he gets downgraded to a 3-Star, now that he has committed to the Gophers?

On a Serious note - two commits from Marshall MN - when was the last time that happened (if ever)?
I think the last kids from SW MN were the Tow-Arnett brothers.

There hasn't been much of a pipeline from Marshall to the U. A couple of walk-ons here and there over the years, but nothing for a long time before Drew. There has really been an influx of talent. Another kid in Blaise's class will be going to Oklahoma on a baseball scholarship.
 

Now that's what I call a good start! Congrats to Blais.

Does that mean he is dating Drew's sister?

I wasn't expecting his commit this early. With his outstanding offer list, I thought he would take longer to decide. This could be a sign that he has an even keel. Add a strong work ethic to his skill set, and he may turn out to be one of our best.

The Gophers received some big news on the morning of Saturday's spring game, as a highly coveted recruit committed to Minnesota.

Blaise Andries, a 6-6, 290-pound offensive lineman from Marshall, Minn., announced on Twitter that he will stick with his in-state school.

Andries had reported offers from Michigan State, Oklahoma, Oregon, TCU, Nebraska, Missouri, Penn State, Arkansas, Florida among others.

I watched the Miller mic'd vids I would have committed as well.

Redwood would generally be considered south central but close enough I suppose. Not usually many decent prospects that far out in the sticks.
 


The U was due for some good news after a largely miserable eight months or so. Glad it was a MN kid who provided it.

So there I was... freezing my butt off in Section 138 (coincidentally surrounded by recruits/commits) and all the sudden, it started going around row by row that Blaise Andries committed, talk about a way to get your chili hot on a chilly day....

Great get, HUGE!!!!

I like what I saw yesterday out of the offensive line. This young man will be a very good addition.
