I'm calling BS.
We were told that he was going to NDSU by Lakesbison, I think rivals and all the recruiting services have this incorrect because otherwise it appear that Lakesbison doesn't know what he's talking about and I refuse to believe that.
But no, I think it was pretty apparent that Bjorklund was going to commit to the first FBS school that offered. I am curious if the U preferred Foster Bush over Bjorklund or if they still have a chance for Bjorklund. An offer (even late one) by the U might be tough for him to turn down.
If they offered Bush and not Bjorklund you can probably conclude that they preferred to have him on the team.
Ha. Yeah, you're right. I worded that wrong. I meant, I am curious if it came down to Bush OR Bjorklund and we wanted Bush (obvious) or if we still think we have a decent chance at Bjorklund.
Not to rip on the kid or anything, but are we really missing that much if he is a MAC player?
Exactly, coach bohl was with Joe, zach Vraa (joes hs teammate) its very odd rivals reported him to Toledo , but Hmmmmmm oh well, I'm at a loss for words, which doesn't happen much!!!
Guess we will see where he ends up in Feb.
Ndsu got burnsville cj smith , and the Ernie kid from bemidji might fall to them too.
Minn hs recruiting is picking up
I'm just surprised he chose Toledo over a Wisconsin offer.
With 5 O-lineman already committed, I believe Bjorklund won't get an offer unless one of O-line recruits switches his commitment. This doesn't sound likely, they are all pretty high on the U which is great. If they have a tough time filling all the scholarships available, I could see them offering Bjorklund late in the recruiting period to fill the class.
Had a guy like Haughton-James not already been committed my guess is Bjorklund would have an offer. This is the kind of scenario where I see Kill going with the Minnesota kid instead of a similar out of state kid. But he has to honor the previous commitments and that's also very important.
I agree with all of this. I was just throwing out a situation that I could see Kill giving the advantage to a Minnesota kid in the future. It was not a knock on Haughton-James at all and he probably is a better prospect.I agree with the overall sentiment but Haughton-James is a kid who a lot more schools seemed higher on than Bjorklund. He had offers from two other BCS schools (S. Florida and West Virginia) and had numerous non-BCS offers. Bjorklund received his first FBS offer this week. I am not saying that automatically makes Haughton-James the better player, but I also wouldn't call Haughton-James and Bjorklund "similar" in terms of how the rest of the country views these two kids.
Ndsu was never even under serious consideration by him
BULL, then why did they invite NDSU bohl into his living room on thursday?
I agree with most of you, if Joe was gonna get a FBS offer, he'd take the 1st one and he did, now if Minn or Wisc come back to him , he'll change his mind.
NDSU said, "look at Billy Turner, dude was told to walk on by Brewster, and now he started every game as a freshman at NDSU and played amazing, he'll be in the NFL someday"
Confirmed from a very good source tonight that he really hasn't committed to Toledo.
Coach Kill shouldn't give up yet!
