Billy Bye dies....

Billy Bye died in a boating accident up in Brainerd yesterday. He was one of the 5 living players named to be an honorary captain at the 1st game in TCF this fall. He was 82.

RIP, Billy!!

You were a Gopher great! Billy Bye was a tremendous player, coach and a major contributor to the U and Gopher football in so many ways. A class act that will be missed!!

I'll always recall your stay in Detroit Lakes (1956-57 school year) and your stories about Gopher football to a then nine year-old.
