We are three games into the season and on the heels of the Bigten opener. 3 questions: How many BigTen W's do we get(and over whom), in what place will we end up, and who wins the Bigten.

Wins: 4
@ NW
Wisconsin
Purdue
Illinois

Conference Finish: Tied for 5th

Conference Champ: Michigan (r u serious!) I'm drinkin the koolaid

I think 4 is pretty safe bet. Put it this way...anything less would be disappointing but anything more should be considered a very successful season. I'm hoping for 5, throwing in an MSU victory as well...but that would pretty much be best case scenario.

Somewhere between optimistic and wishful thinking.

5-2 going into last game against Iowa. Losses at PSU and Ohio ST.

I'm either trying to increase my post total or my brain is slow this morning.

Michigan and Notre Dame are both overrated.

I actually think 4 wins in the bigten is on the optimistic side. After watching our O line and our running game this year I can't see us winning more than 5 games with 2-4 wins seeming more realistic. I fear Weber is going to be under a ton of pressure to make plays all year. Can we score given all of the deficiencies in the run game? We'll see what kind of coordinator we have in Jedd Fisch, he sure has his work cut out for him!

Anything under 4 wins would be dissappointing the Big Ten is weak!

Amazing.

Four games we'll be huge dogs in, three will be tossups, and Purdue. It doesn't take a math wiz to pull 2-6, or 3-5, out of the likely outcomes.

The only reason I'm feeling more optimistic right now is that we've seen our toughest home opponent already and had them on the ropes. It's obviously too early to tell, but TCF might prove to be a very tough place to come in and beat us.

I think we lose to Illinois but beat Michigan State.......

These next three games the Gophers have a very good shot at winning. Even games at OSU and PSU are not games to be scared about. Granted we will not be the favorites but a win should not shock the world. The Big Ten is weak.

Maybe, but you know that Michigan just needed a QB to get back on track. They, by far and it's not even close, have the best looking offense 3 games into the season. Granted, they played some bad defenses but look around the Bigten and you won't exactly see the incredible D's. The other reason I like Michigan to win it is because of the their schedule. They get both PSU and OSU at home.

NW (W)
Bucky (W)
Purdue (W)
Illinois (W)

OSU (L)
PSU (L)
MSU (L)
Iowa (L)

7-5, 4-4 would be a solid season. Gophers will not lose to Wisconsin or Illinois this season. Book those two right now. The key "swing" game will be vs. Michigan State. That one can go either way.

I hate to even say it. I'm starting to wonder about Iowa. But it's a long shot and i can't get myself to pick them.

so Penn State to win.
gophers 3-5 (over Wisconsin, Purdue, and Illinois)
7th

We should win all 4 of our Big Ten home games. IL and MSU are beatable. No reason why we can't duplicate last year's win against IL. Ringer has graduated and MSU is already hitting the skids. I think we match up well with wisky. If we're going to turn the corner, we need to win these games. We get payback this weekend and head towards a 5-3 conference record.

MN 5-3
Penn State wins the B10
Only 1 BCS bid for the conference

But not the teams we play...

We will likely win 3 BT games, finishing the season with 6 wins. Best-case scenario, we win 5 games (total of 8), and the new, upgraded fanbase (the new stadium is LOUD on TV) propels us to a mid-tier bowl game about the stature of the Sun Bowl.

Anything more than that, and Brewster should have a nice contract extension presented immediately.

MN 6-2

L @ PSU
L @ Iowa

W @ OSU (book it baby)
W @ NU
Win all 4 home games

Whoa

W @ OSU (book it baby)
Alllll Aboooooard! The crazy train is leavin for CBUS:party: Dude, I hope you are right and I wish I shared you're hope but I don't see how our O line can handle OSU. Here's to me being wrong and U being right:drink:

I think our O-line is close, if Stommes works out at RT, I think we can move some bodies.

It could be worse, here's a comparison of MN's and PSU's rushing performance versus Syracuse. PSU played at home and had a passing attack that game, we didn't, until late. We played Syracuse on the road in their coach's first game, lots of excitement for them. Plus, no one would confuse Eskridge and Bennett for Royster.

CAR YDS AVG TD LG
PSU 35 78 2.2 1 14
MN 32 112 3.5 1 16

Interesting comparison. Makes me think if we get Sherels back and our D is healthy, we might have a chance against PSU.
