In past years it's always been easy to identify the really rugged players, the big hitters, the tough guys on the team. This year I don't know who that's going to be.

Have the Gophers turned into more of a finesse team? I don't think so - coach Kill always talks about cultivating toughness. Do we have anyone on offense or defense who really stands out as a big hitter? I'm looking for a wrecking ball, someone like Mike Sherels.

Kirkwood lowers the boom on a few guys every game.

On D, I guess it would be Cedric Thompson

I'd say the big three are going to be Jack Lynn, Rodrick Williams, and Derrick Wells.

Manual will hit you and Vereen has at times too. We don't really have a 'big' hitter that's proven it in game yet.

nick rallis if he sees the field enough, antonio johnson's hit in the spring game was pretty big, and kirkwood and roderick williams as well

This* James Manuel will hit you like he has an anvil in his shoulder pads, dude can run too so he'll get some nice momentum going..

Eldred. I'm not even sure if I am joking.

Based on what I saw in the spring game Damian Wilson if he gets into the rotation enough.

+1 Damian Wilson We'll like that in a middle linebacker!
