Going to post this then get out of here for a few days while our die-hard super fans like Boomtime and Hello-World spew their garbage into every thread while they do their victory dance....because you know....they are Gopher fans.....sure...that makes sense.....
Anyway. Here is my take on the West after Week 10.
Favorite
Wisconsin - Remaining games - NW, Neb, @ MN
As much as it sucks, nobody in the West is playing better than Wisconsin right now. They may have lost a RB today which could be a big blow but that defense is awesome and the offense is playing better of late. It is their division to lose at this point.
Still in the Hunt - But Have to Win out to have a realistic shot.
Iowa - Remaining Games - MN, ILL, @ Neb
Honestly, there is not a sure thing win in those final 3 for Iowa. Looks like they have switched QBs but even with the new QB they still only managed 17 against NW and that came with a 3-0 victory in the Turnover Margin. With the losses to Wisconsin and Purdue, they have to win out and potentially get some help from somebody against the Badgers to win the division.
Purdue - Remaining Games - @ OSU, @ NW, IND
Caught MSU at the perfect time coming off their win over Michigan. If they can somehow beat Ohio State next week they will stay in the hunt but with losses to Wisconsin and Minnesota it is going to be tough for them to win the West.
Minnesota - Remaining Games - @ Iowa, @ IND, WIS
Laid an egg against Illinois but if they respond can still win the division by winning out. How they respond against Iowa in one week will be interesting to see. Gophers are easily one of the toughest teams to get a read on in the West this year. Can look good one week and terrible the next.
The Rest
Illinois - Solid but inconsistent.
Nebraska - Still has a chance to play spoiler against Wis and Iowa if they bring the effort they did today against OSU
Northwestern - Hung around with Iowa some but just not a good team.
