Holy Man, if you're out there. ...

Be very afraid, as I can never completely trust the ticket office. Three weeks ago I was told Big Ten Tournament ticket applications would be mailed to season-ticket holders in "mid-December." I called again today and now I was told they would be mailed in "mid to late January". This waffling on the time frame always concerns me. I challenged the friendly customer service rep, told her it's worrisome seeing the general public being offered tickets while season-ticket holders are left twiddling their thumbs. She stood firm and said the U's allotment has been set aside for season-ticket holders and those will be made available at a later date (now January).

What concerns me is last season we received the ticket application in October/November. Now it could be late January? That just doesn't seem right. That's cutting it awfully close to March if any unforseen ticket problems arise (more demand than they expect).

Selection, I asked the same thing in November, and I am very afraid. The upside is that they are basically telling us all the same thing. The downside is they told me a supervisor would call me back and they never did. I have a contact who is a priority ticket holder and has a pal in the office that might be able to run some interference and get a straight answer. I do remember ordering them in November last year. I am particularly worried because I am holding money for several others who want tickets. As far as I know, all the other schools have figured this out. This is a mickey mouse operation if ever there was one.

I assume you are going this year, are you not?

I have had the same concerns. I have always paid for my tickets before the first of the year, however, I have been assured by Golden Gopher fund staff on 2 occassions that the applications will be sent out via email in January. My last contact was yesterday.

Future Big Ten Tournament contract/site. ...Myron?

Yes, Holy Man, I'm going this year.

As much as I enjoy the tournament more in Indy, the flavor, the surroundings, the atmosphere, etc., I find myself hoping the Big Ten moves it back to Chicago for awhile. This "hopping on a plane stuff" to go to the BTT is so much more of a hassle. Chicago's nice because it's a reasonable day's drive.

I think the 5-year Indy contract runs out in a year or two, so shouldn't the Big Ten be making an announcement pretty soon about the future tournament site?

Myron, if you're out there, have you heard anything about where the BTT is going to be played after the current contract runs out? Thanks in advance.
