so do we have the players to complete for the conference title this year.

If we can get consistent scoring and shooting from the likes of Westbrook, Joseph, and Hoffarber, we can "compete", sure. I think we will still need Mbakwe out there to really be in the mix. And Colt and Ralph will need to be ready for the pounding of conference play.

Yes if we have Mbakwe to bang we would be in the mix. It would have been nice to have White in there too. Maybe we will have both by the Big Ten Start. (doubtful)

Defense-check. Rebounding-check. Outside shooting-most nights, check. The only thing that's missing is a go-to guy on offense. Westbrook's shown flashes of that, if he's consistent all year, they are definitely capable of winning the conference.

Gophers will definitely compete, but I still think they'll finish 4th this year. Still think MSU and Purdue are just a step above everybody else, and either Evan Turner or Manny Harris (or both) is going to carry their team to a fantastic season.

I think this is TBD.

Purdue and MSU are very very good. And a bunch of other teams can't be over-looked.

The conference beating up on itself, and Minnesota taking care of business is the best way I see it now for us to have a chance.... the next 3 games will tell us a ton.

But honestly we are really lacking at least one PF that just rebounds and bangs.

I refuse to check the rebounding. We are not a bad rebounding team, but I wouldn't say we are above average either.

Joseph, Westbrook... i'll take them as Go-To guys. I really think Joseph's limit is the Sky.

I don't understand the Joseph obsession on this board. He made some clutch shots at the end of the game but he really hasn't shot the ball that well and he takes so many ill-advised shots without any ball movement. Somehow that makes him the next Stephen Curry as I've read on here. I still like DJ as our second leading scorer.

This Big Ten is pretty strong. We still have holes but have come a long way in a few years. It should be a fun year but I am merely hoping for a top 5 finish.

Because he has the ability to score. He did go 7/8 one game last year, and I think he still has that in him every game. He also has range, and doesn't need someone to pass him the ball.

He does need to stop taking ill-advised shots, but I feel like on this team he has the most potential at the Guard position in terms of getting a shot any time needs to. He is clearly not Stephen Curry right now.

We should be able to compete for the BT title. Not sure if we can complete for it though.
