Big Ten returning scoring by percentage (MN 8.2%, 2 teams at 0%)

In today's college athletics an experienced coach is required... out of pure curriosity how much scoring did medved have coming back each year?? He lost all proven players avery spring.. yet made the tourney... we're in capable hands

no doubt he is a very good coach. The Big Ten is filled with very good coaches. Still comes down to talent.

At this time, when one compares what PU has in their bucket compared to the Gophers it put things into perspective. I’ve posted here every time the Gophers bring in a new coach the struggle to compete with the cream of the BIG is a huge uphill struggle. At least we have an experienced HC at the helm but we also did with Tubby. Said that, let’s give Nikko a chance to build. PJ has lessened the incline a bit the past 7-8 seasons but……

People need to figure out how Purdue is able to do it in this day and age because I would be if this chart was expanded to include every power conference team they would probably be in a very small group with that much talent returning.

Roster churn in college sports has always been a thing but what we are seeing in this current era is just stupid. Even star players aren't staying put in basketball as they jump from school to school.

I agree that the struggle is a struggle (I kid - I’ve done a similar thing many times).

Having a competent coach is > talent. Who would you rather be a team with boatloads of talent with a terrible coach like Indiana under Woodson or a team of players who fit each others’ talents with a coach who knows what they’re doing? I choose the latter, but in order to actually compete for conference titles, you do need the talent, fit and coaching (and good injury avoidance luck).

I don't think that graphic means a lot. A bad team that returns a lot of players will likely still be bad. Teams that do great in the transfer portal clearly won't return a lot of scoring. Taking nothing away from Purdue, they will be solid obviously.
