Detroit News is first out of the gate:

5. Minnesota (3-3) — Even after missing the last two weeks because of COVID-19 issues and short 33 players, the Golden Gophers managed to beat Nebraska behind a pair of touchdown runs from Mohamed Ibrahim (24) after Cornhuskers turnovers. It was a gutty performance, one that lessens some of the sting of a season that never went as planned for the Gophers. Last week: 7.

Go Gophers!!

Buckeyes Wire chimes in:

7. Minnesota

The Golden Gophers looked like the worst team in the league early on, but slowly began to figure things out on the defensive side and went on a little run to end the season, winning two in a row to close things out. It’s still wasn’t where the boat was hoping to dock, but in a weird 2020, it’s something to build on.

Assume Purdue is 13th?

Interesting Nebraska tidbit from the Detroit News article:
“The Huskers, ..., haven’t won back-to-back Big Ten games since 2018.”

Go Gophers!!

Based on the number of teams ahead of us in the rankings we are actually #6 this week after being #7 last week. I hope we can bounce Wisconsin out of #5 this weekend in Madison

BHGP Power Rankings

5. Minnesota (3-3)
The reasons for putting Minnesota here are twofold:

One, the Gophers are the only team in the conference to finish .500. Everyone after the gilded rodents boasts a losing record.

Two, Minnesota thoroughly beat Nebraska with 33 scholarship players unavailable Saturday.

But please, tell me more about how Michigan and Ohio State were unable to play this weekend

Mlive.com chimes in:

5. MINNESOTA (3-3)
The Gophers were missing 33 players Saturday, but not Mohamed Ibrahim, and that’s all that really mattered against Nebraska. Ibrahim ran for two touchdowns and 108 yards on 20 carries, and Cam Wiley also added 81 yards on the ground in just seven attempts. Minnesota has been off the past two weeks due to COVID-19 issues, and the two bookend games around it -- both wins -- were with heavily a heavily depleted roster. Credit to P.J. Fleck for keeping this team in it. (Last week: 7)

Buckeyes 5th Quarter chimes in:

8. (14) Minnesota (3-3), W - 24-17 at Nebraska, Next Week: at Wisconsin

After a two week absence due to positive coronavirus cases, Minnesota returned to action and notched their third win of the season. The Golden Gophers were without 33 scholarship players and were still able to pull out a road win, thanks to another big day from running back Mohamed Ibrahim. Ibrahim finished with 108 rushing yards and two touchdowns in the win and has now rushed for over 100 yards in all six games this season. Minnesota’s defense forced two turnovers (one INT, one fumble) that the Gophers turned into 14 points. P.J. Fleck’s squad will look to cap off a tumultuous season with a win over Wisconsin on Saturday.

Go Gophers!!
