...put the Gophs in the #2 position in his Big Ten Power rankings in last nights Site and Sounds show.

He also suggested they'll bring the axe back to MN

Don't agree with the power ranking but certainly they could beat Bucky Saturday

Yea, I just about jumped out of my seat when we popped up at #2, good to see someone with an unbiased view is thinking highly of us right now.

Personal opinion here obviously but Troy Vincent is by far my least favorite dude on the "four pack". I enjoy the commentary from the other ex players and coaches but Vincent is difficult for me to watch. He is the least polished, and so much of what he says doesn't make sense.

A couple weeks ago he said HE could cover Decker and shut him down one on one. Last night he broke down the two teams and put most of his check marks (advantages) on the Badgers, including RECEIVERS. Right after that, he predicted the gophers would win. Then a few moments later he somehow had the Gophers ranked second best in the Big 10! I could go on but couple the strange commentary with the jumbled chopped up verbal delivery and it is just plain tough for me to watch.

I do enjoy the other guys especially Chris Martin even if I don't always agree with his opinions. He is a natural in front of the camera.

He also talked about how "balanced" the Gopher offense was. Sounds like he's only watched one game.

Missed that last night, but will see it on DVR. Troy seems to see things other experts don't...he likes to think "outside the box", but not "off-the-wall". Have to wonder...he's a former Wisky star...is there some pro-Becky sandbagging going on here before the Bank AXE showdown?

There is no question the Gophers are improving steadily, but there certainly is no consensus I've seen that they are the #2 BT power in pundit-land...they still need to prove it on the field with more solid, if not outright dominating winning performances.

Giving due credit for past Mason recruiting efforts and greatly improved Brew-led national recruiting, anyone who follows the Gophers knows they obviously do have dominating athletic talent in certain key areas on O/D/STs and great hard-working "lunch-pail" talent in others.

That apparent, it's Brew & Staff's job to game plan and prepare intelligently for the strengths/weaknesses of each and every opponent, refuse to go "soft" and take a coaching "week-off", make smart in-game adjustments to put the team in a position to win and keep all players motivated/disciplined/focused to realize their full potential both as individual student-athletes as well as a unified winning team.

All that is not easy and requires a great deal of coaching focus and discipline, but it's achieveable given the talent level, top-tier facilities and fan support available to the Gophers now...that's why this terrific mix of energetic, NFL-savvy, BT-experienced and dedicated coaches are paid the big bucks by any Minny standard and held largely accountable for results on the field by the AD, Administration, alumni and fans at home and nationally.

We all know Decker is the best receiver between the 2 teams, but Wisconsin has a stable of great receivers, with Nick Toon and Isaac Anderson at wide out and most likely the best 1-2 combo at tight end in the nation in Garrett Graham and Lance Kendricks. It's not at all a stretch to say Wisconsin has better receivers overall.

I got the idea he was being sarcastic and no one understood the joke.

He can't possibly think Minnesota is the second best team in the Big Ten, especially since he believes Minnesota to be inferior to Wisconsin in every area of the game.

Decker isn't just the best receiver between the two teams, he is by far the best offensive player on the field and a top 3-5 receiver in the nation. Anderson is solid, but I think you are underestimating Green/Stoudermire. Weber doesn't get them as involved as he should. Both of them have made some phenomenal catches, and I think they'll start getting more looks when teams try to triple team Decker because that is probably their only chance of stopping him.

Your argument has some merit because Graham is an outstanding tight end and he is a huge threat, but I still think you have to give the edge to the Gophers at receiver. I think you'll come away impressed with the other receivers after Saturday provided Weber has a decent game.

He was inconsistent, I just got the impression that when he was comparing the two teams he was trying to work in some props for his alma mater (by giving them the edge at positions), if he would have given us the edge at receiver, which he should have, them we would have had the edge in his comparison.

He seemed pretty dead serious when he was giving his reasons for having MN at #2, and he listed off a decent amount of them. Now do I think we are #2? No, Iowa has proven to better at this point. But 3/4 isn't unreasonable at this point, and probably would make sense at 5 too?
