Minnesota RB Shannon Brooks: The Gophers rookie had one touchdown heading into Saturday’s game against Illinois. He added three more while carrying his team to a victory over the Illini. The true freshman isn’t playing like one during the second half of the season. He ran for 174 yards on only 17 carries, which brings his season and career total up to 462 yards on the ground. The Atlanta native has a bright future in an offense that likes to hand the ball to its workhorse backs.

Brooks already had 4 TDs coming into the game. Kid is a stud.

Yes he is. Thought the 4 TDS was odd. Going into the game he only had one TD in November. Maybe that's what they meant and it was sloppy job of editing.

FWIW, according to gophersports.com, Brooks has 99 carries for 636 yards and 7 TDs.

Beautiful, and that's all available on the ESPN website! ;)

The 462 yards is the total he had BEFORE the 174 he got last night. Maybe somebody should just copy this thread and forward it to Dan Murphy, ESPN Staff Writer. Unlike the magazine itself they can correct stuff online.

Wow, just a complete botch job on the stats. Thanks ESPN.
