Funny if it’s Bielema because I doubt his end goal is to stay at Illinois for long.
UCLA for instance?I truly believe there is more too it than just money for Fleck. Not saying he wouldn't leave but I do think it is a fairly narrow window of teams that he would leave for. Would have to be a situation he viewed as perfect.
Perfect fit indeed. He is rowing away with a boat load of money, can win 7 or 8 games a year and guys here are talking about building a statue. Why leave?I totally agree with you. I truly believe Fleck looks at Minnesota as a perfect fit for him, his family and his CULTURE. They just built a beautiful home on Lake Minnetonka and he appears to love Minnesota. Just my opinion. I don't believe it's all about money for Fleck. He is taken care of well here and he is building a very competitive program. I don't believe he would be as good a fit at a top Blue Blood. He has it quite nice where he is at and his CULTURE works very well. Just my 2 cents.
Not sure why people think PJ or Heather would be so drawn to the “glitzy and glamorous” places. Haven’t they both basically lived in the Midwest their whole lives? They both have split custody with other parents in the Midwest. I get it, if someone offers a big number from anywhere in the country it’s tough to turn down, but I don’t get this whole Hollywood Fleck narrative.PJ is getting $6 million per year through 2029. Kirby Smart is on top at $13 million.
Ryan Day $12.5
Lincoln Riley $11.5
Dabo $11
Lanning $11
Deion $10.8
Sarkisian $10.8
You can't convince me if Lincoln Riley wets the bed again in 2025 and USC comes calling that PJ wouldn't sprint to double his salary. Heather in Beverly Hills is a match made in heaven for her.
If UNLV finds a backer to pay him $11-12 million, I can see them in Las Vegas.
I don't know where he fits...if Texas A&M doesn't win...they got money, BYU, Texas Tech spend money. Would he leave for Michigan? This may be Moore's last season if they tank.
But, the Gophers have to win minimum 9 regular season games and they can't lose the other three by four touchdowns apiece before PJ's "the hot coach". It would help PJ if the other guys on coaching search lists had bad years to eliminate some other candidates. It seems it always the "hot" guys who get hired.
Hopefully, he's not going anywhere but if he wins big....tough to keep him. He's got a family, he's competitive, he wants to be at the top of the pay scale.
As far as I know he didn't leave for UCLA.UCLA for instance?
