This gets moved up if one team gets taken by the BCS. Ah the possibilities!!!!!

I'd like to see the Gophers get to the Gator Bowl. I think that's a realistic possibility with maybe a 9-3 record. 8-4 might get us there, if Ohio State goes to the BCS title game.

Jason Kirk of Sbnation is predicting Buffalo Wild Wings bowl vs Ok St.

He's got Iowa going to the gator bowl, which I personally would rather see us go to.

So I see us somewhere in the Texas, Gator, Bdubs, range depending on how the Indiana/PSU games go.

I would say we need a minimum of 8-4 for the Gator Bowl or beyond, and then probably only if OSU makes a BCS bowl game. We need this Indiana game!!

Again, a lot of it depends on Ohio State and Wisconsin making a BCS bowl game. That bumps everyone up.

If that's the case, we're looking at a pool of Michigan State, Michigan, Iowa, Nebraska, and Minnesota (and maybe Indiana and/or NW) in bowls Capital One-Texas.

If not, it's probably the same group of five teams + Wisconsin looking at Capital One-Heart of Dallas.

Avoiding Heart of Dallas would be nice, considering the opponent will come from Conference USA, and there's not much prestige in that (I also believe it's on ESPNU).

Beyond that, the difference between the other bowls isn't huge. I believe all of them are on ESPN, and all have BCS opponents. I guess there's a certain cache with playing on New Years Day, but Bowl Season is different than it used to be.

Either way, if we don't want to be at the bottom of that group of five, we'll probably have to have more wins than them considering the effect of fans traveling, etc.

Essentially sitting seventh in the pecking order at this moment since a bowl will take Iowa before us. Lots and lots of work to do, which has to be the message from the coaches to the players. Three more wins for a nice bowl game.

That's just crazy talk. Any bowl game would love to have Nebraska with how well they travel and their decently large fan base.

For regular season games and big time Bowl games, that's indisputable Matt. The problem is will they travel to minor bowl games? They didn't travel to the B1G Championship game last year. Speculation was that it was because they were expecting to go to the Rose Bowl and were saving their money.

No doubt in anybody's mind that they'll travel to a big Bowl Game, if they finish 5, 6 or 7?

Sure looks like the Gator Bowl or Texas Bowl at this point, depending on whether 1 or 2 Big Ten teams make it into the BCS.
