Who ya got?

Monday, Nov. 30
Penn State at Virginia

Tuesday, Dec. 1
Maryland at Indiana
Michigan State at North Carolina
Northwestern at N.C. State
Virginia Tech at Iowa
Wake Forest at Purdue

Wednesday, Dec. 2
Boston College at Michigan
Duke at Wisconsin
Florida State at Ohio State
Illinois at Clemson
Minnesota at Miami

I think we might finally take this thing!

My picks:
Virginia over PSU
Maryland over IU
UNC over Mich St.
Northwestern over NC State
Va Tech over Iowa
Purdue over Wake Forest
Michigan over BC
Duke over WI
Ohio St. over FSU
Illinois over Clemson
Minnesota over Miami
Big Ten wins 6-5 good thing Georgia Tech isn't playing this year...they've got a young but talented team

Monday, Nov. 30
Penn State at Virginia - UVA

Tuesday, Dec. 1
Maryland at Indiana - MARYLAND
Michigan State at North Carolina - UNC
Northwestern at N.C. State - NCSTATE
Virginia Tech at Iowa - VT
Wake Forest at Purdue - PU

Wednesday, Dec. 2
Boston College at Michigan - MICHIGAN
Duke at Wisconsin - WISKY(!!)
Florida State at Ohio State - OSU
Illinois at Clemson - CLEMSON
Minnesota at Miami - MIAMI

7-4 ACC...again.

It will be all over but the shoutin' after Tuesday night. Most of the B10's best matchups are on Wednesday, but I think it'll be 5-1 after night 2. I think Wisky beats Dook, who finally has to play a real road game in this thing. Wisky and their fans will be jacked with the Dookies in the house, and Dook is real thin in the backcourt this year.

IMO, the swing games will be MSU @ UNC and PSU @ Virginia.

Duke played at Purdue last year. 76-60 Duke

Oops...thanks for the correction.

I probably made that prediction last year as well, with the same statement about Dook finally playing a road game.

Monday, Nov. 30
Penn State at Virginia------Penn State

Tuesday, Dec. 1
Maryland at Indiana----Terps
Michigan State at North Carolina-----MSU in a close one

Virginia Tech at Iowa----VA Tech
Wake Forest at Purdue-----Boilers

Wednesday, Dec. 2
Boston College at Michigan-----Michigan
Duke at Wisconsin-----Duke
Florida State at Ohio State-----OSU

I think we can take it, 6-5. It'll probably come down to the Gophers game...

Monday, Nov. 30
Penn State at Virginia - Penn State

Tuesday, Dec. 1
Maryland at Indiana - Maryland
Michigan State at North Carolina - Michigan State
Northwestern at N.C. State - N.C. State
Virginia Tech at Iowa - Virginia Tech
Wake Forest at Purdue - Purdue

Wednesday, Dec. 2
Boston College at Michigan - Michigan
Duke at Wisconsin - Duke
Florida State at Ohio State - Ohio State
Illinois at Clemson - Illinois
Minnesota at Miami - Minnesota

Big 10 wins 7-4, maybe 6-5.

I think it is very unlikely that we lose to Miami. The Canes are averaging 19.4 turnovers per game against below average defenses. We should be able to throw different D's at them all game long, and if we can make our outside shots, we should win this one without too much trouble.

Ahhh...the perception that is not close to reality.

9 - at Illinois (Chicago)
00 - Illinois (Greensboro)
01 - at Iowa (Chicago)
02 - Ohio St (Greensboro)
03 - at Michigan St
04 - Michigan St
05 - at Indiana
06 - Indiana
07 - Wisconsin
08 - at Purdue
09 - at Wisconsin

4 true road games, 3 true home games, 2 neutral games favoring BT team, 2 neutral games favoring Duke.

If anything, Duke has had a less than favorable schedule in the Challenge.

As for this year's Challenge...if the BT doesn't win this year, it might never win (or at least quit trying and end the Challenge). The BT has 6 of 11 at home, is missing GT, and this is the weakest the ACC has been from top to bottom in a while.

The BT has 6 of 11 at home

True, but 2 of the B10 home games are wasted on Iowa and Indiana who are so bad this year that they have almost no chance of winning - there goes the home court advantage.

Thanks for the facts, Pewter. I guess my misrepresentation is leftover from the first several years of the challenge. I do remember the game in Bloomington when IU and Killingsworth had Dook on the ropes for most of the game. Not sure why I forgot about those games.

The first two years of the challenge were gimmes for the ACC. Both years had IU and OSU on the bench, severely hurting the B10s advantage in depth of talent.

It's about time the B10 got an advantage with a good ACC team missing the challenge.

Yeah, but Wisconsin isn't nearly as good this year as they've been in the past. Duke has never lost a Challenge game. I hope their streak ends this year, but I wouldn't bet the ranch on it. Things often seem to go Duke's way. They, along with UNC, were the pre-season favorites to win the ACC. One of those two teams was the top choice on 45 of 48 ballots. Wisconsin isn't even in the top half of most predictions for the Big-10. Like I said, things just seem to break in favor of the Dookies.

Is it now 1-0 with UW's win over Maryland? :)

Good luck in Anaheim. Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Unfortunately no, Ohio State lost to UNC so it's 1-1.

Good win by UW BTW, looked great from outside but if you live by the 3 you die by the 3 should be an interesting year for them.

For some reason I think the Big Ten wins this rather easily. 7-4 or perhaps 8-3.

Virginia over PSU
Maryland over Indiana
MSU over North Carolina
N.C. State over Northwestern
Virginia Tech over Iowa
Purdue over Wake Forest
Michigan over Boston College
Duke over Wisconsin
OSU over FSU
Clemson over Illinois
Miami over Minnesota

ACC wins 6-5.

I agree, of course NU over NC St would have been a reasonable pick with Coble playing.

Monday, Nov. 30
Penn State at Virginia

Tuesday, Dec. 1
Maryland at Indiana
Michigan State at North Carolina
Northwestern at N.C. State
Virginia Tech at Iowa
Wake Forest at Purdue

Wednesday, Dec. 2
Boston College at Michigan
Duke at Wisconsin
Florida State at Ohio State
Illinois at Clemson
Minnesota at Miami

I think we might finally take this thing!

ACC wins again, unfortunately, 6-5, with a huge lead after the first 2 days. We (the Big Ten) waste two of our home matches on teams from the conference bottom.

Virginia over PSU - PSU is awful without Cornley and Pringle.
Maryland over Indiana - this is a swing game, IMO, if Indiana can step up. I don't think they'll be as bad as some of us here have been predicting.
UNC over MSU - UNC is at home.
NC State over Northwestern - if this game were at Northwestern, then maybe.
VTech over Iowa - will Iowa reach 7 or 8 wins this year?
Purdue over WF
Michigan over BC
Duke over Wisconsin - Wisconsin's only chance is their 8-on-5 home reffing advantage; which Duke should nullify.
Ohio State over Florida State - maybe if OSU played Duke and Wisconsin played FSU.
Illinois over Clemson - if a BT team upsets an ACC team in the first 5 games of this tourney, then this is a huge game.
Minnesota over Miami - same as above; this probably determines the Challenge championship if the BT wins any of the first 5.
