Does anyone know when the Big 10 will release their new schedule? Is it expected to start the same week as we normally would?

Who knows ... I fear it is lining up to be a week to week thing or worse ....

They probably don’t want to release schedules before being confident in a season actually happening

They will have to get something out in the fairly near future. There are tons of moving parts involved in travel for the teams (flights, buses, hotels, meals, police escorts.....) so if the game dates are going to change from what was already scheduled they will need to give teams plenty of time to make adjustments to their travel plans.

There are also a ton of gameday logistics at each site. I would expect to see the Big Ten release a modified 10 game schedule in the very near future. Whether or not that schedule ends up getting played is a whole separate issue.

I wonder if we'll see something like:

Hey every school, for your given home games ... if you could block off some hotel rooms to host ... some sort of visiting team ... who knows who ... that would be great.

It would save each team making that sort of accommodation at the last moment...

Yep, tons of planning to do, both travel logistics and gameday logistics.

And that planning is probably going to be 2x the work (at least) this year. They're going to have to check with the charter airlines, hotels, bus companies, caterers etc. for a written covid policy and get that approved by the university. Make up contingency plans for if a player tests positive while on a trip ... how are they going to get him back?? Fly him in a separate plane? Etc etc etc.

Just because they haven’t released anything publicly doesn’t mean that schools don’t know what is likely to happen

Finding an empty hotel in MPLS won't be an issue these days...

If they're going to try and play, they should start in September on the normal week one and build it time on the back-end for re-scheduled games. I suspect they will instead kick the can into October.

Saw a tweet from a college FB writer the other day - gist was that some people connected with the B1G were becoming more pessimistic about the chances of holding anything close to a normal season.

Residence halls should have enough empty rooms this semester. ;)

Just have them sleep in cots in the ROTC building.

Full days rations, for each player!

I am absolutely sure we might or might not have a season, but I don't know. I think it's still 50/50 they play, or 50/50 they don't. But I am still confident a decision will be made one way or the other.

If there was a game schedule for September 5 or before they’d likely be canceling it this week

Hot take. This is the NCAA we're talking about here.
