Per Marcus Fuller Tweets........

@GophersNow Claeys sounded extremely disappointed that other Big Ten programs would use Kill's seizure disorder against him in recruiting.
@GophersNow But recruiting targets have told the Gophers that other schools have mentioned it in a negative way. Kill is upfront with recruits about it.

Recruiting is a dirty game. I would expect other coaches to do this. It's lame, but it is what it is.

I am sure the guys at the U have never mentioned Dantonio's Heart Attack. It is not like the seizure thing is a secret, I would be shocked if there is a recruit that would not come here because of it.

Coaches use anything and everything in recruiting, not sure what Claeys hopes to gain by complaining about it.

Yeah, if a player decides not to come to the U partly because of this, then I wouldn't want a guy like that anyways.

Someone could take it as a positive too. My head coach is struggling with this all the time, yet is out there every day working his butt off.

If Claeys is saying that, he's either:

-Trying to play a woe is us card for the Gophers, or...
-Far too naive to be coaching at a major college program.

D1 football is a dirty game. Coaches get paid millions of dollars. They do that by winning games. They win games by getting top recruits. They get top recruits not just by convincing them to go to their school, but talking them out of going to other schools. By any means necessary.

I would be shocked if there was ANY coach who wouldn't use Kill's seizures as means to keep a guy from going to Minnesota.

He didn't say anything. Fuller said Claeys sounded "extremely disappointed," whatever that means. A sigh perhaps?

Fuller is a dolt.

I think Claeys is well aware other programs will do it, doesn't mean the disappointment is still not gonna be there.

As far as recruits not choosing the Gophers cause of it, I do have doubts that a recruit who is seriously considering the Gophers would be affected by the negative recruiting concerning this.

But I do think those who may have considered the program who aren't because of his condition. And if they don't consider the program cause of his condition, that means they don't have the opportunity to sell the program to them, so that's a potential recruit lost.

Since there's really no way to know this for sure, short of a recruit outwardly expressing this to be the case, all they can do is just press forward with the options they do have and win games without them. Winning overcomes a whole lot, I do know that.

I think it's a valid concern for some recruits.

Not a fan of negative recruiting, but if a recruit asks a school for a comparison between them and other schools.. "their coach has a history of missing time during the season" isn't the nastiest thing ever said. Kids who care are going to understand the situation anyway... Kill's health issues are going to be a problem for some recruits, but for others it won't be... but not because some other school is talking about it.

Disco is right it is a million dollar business. you do what you can to get what you need to win.

The statement is probably a defensive comment by Claeys saying to other BT schools....'let's not do this'. Winning cures all, hell it even cures scandals see OSU.

Win the f0cking games Jerry,Bill,Tracy and Matt.
