#17 Minnesota

After failing to make the tournament one more time, head coach Ben Johnson was relieved of his coaching duties after four seasons, and Niko Medved (former coach at Colorado State) has been named head coach.

As a result, similar to many other new head coaches, Minnesota will rely on the portal to bring in an entirely new roster (9 incoming transfers) rather than recruiting at the high school level (1 incoming freshman).

Of the projected starting lineup, Isaac Asuma is the only returning player from last year’s team in the starting lineup. The rest of the projected lineup will be filled with transfers Langston Reynolds (Northern Colorado), B.J. Omot (Cal), Bobby Durkin (Davidson), and Robert Vaihola (San Jose State).

Minnesota’s record has a chance to look extremely well early on, as Missouri and Stanford are the only power 5 teams in their non-conference schedule, so don’t be fooled!

Go Gophers!!

I will not get upset about power rankings. I will not get upset about power rankings. I will not get upset about power rankings.

Minnesota finished 12th in the conference last year (granted 5 way tie so it could have been 16) with a much worse coach. They only got 2 out of 5 of the starters correct. Not worth the click.
