Bielema couldnt get the two point play

Thats Karma baby.

It was a great laugh. I have to give Bielema some credit though. It was the same two-point play he called against us and we actually had the "under" receiver covered. Great play by Carder.

Butt should have practiced it more against the Gophers! :banghead:

Sweetness. It was so good seeing him choke on it. He jammed it down TCU's throat with the run all the way down the field and then calls a pass play. Nice call Butt.

Coaching: Why did Wisconsin lose this game despite the stats? Coaching decisions. Now, I loved Bret Bielema calling a fake punt deep in his own territory in the first half, but other than that, he left me scratching my head quite a bit. There was the questionable clock management at the end of the first half that forced Wisconsin to settle for a field goal, as it seems Bielema thought unused timeouts carried over to the second half. The biggest gaffe, however, came at the end of the game. On Wisconsin's final drive the Badgers ran the ball right down TCU's throat with John Clay and Montee Ball. After finally punching the ball into the end zone, the Badgers had to go for two, so what did Wisconsin do? They spread it out with four receivers and decided to throw. A Tank Carder fly swat later and TCU was Rose Bowl champions. Grade:F

Nice game, Meathead.

It IS karma. Missin' the two. Hope it starts the downhill spiral...

Paul Chryst did not distinguish himself in this game either. Don't know why Wisconsin went away from running inside and why Clay did not play more.

Very happy BB lost. Wish TCU had hung 80 on him.

I didn't get that either. Wisconsin has a big line and after bulldozing TCU early (especially on th 7-minute-plus drive in the 2nd quarter, I thought they'd just lean on TCU the rest of the tame and wear them out. Tolzien's a good Big 10 "game manager" QB, but he's not going to beat you.

Perhaps it might not have been a good idea to run the same two-point play that he already tried earlier in the year. TCU did have tape of the game after all. Maybe if they hadn't seen it already, if might have gone better for Wisconsin,.

Agree I would have run inside more. BB did not have a good game managing the clock, I would agree.
One big play was Toon dropping the pass early in the game inside the 5. Had to settle for 3 when a TD would have been big on the opening drive.

Upon further review, the second quarter was classic. Wicsonsin had two drives of over 7 minutes the first was the missed field goal. And getting the ball back another 7 minute drive where Bret gets an 11 yard gain from Northman out Punt formation. Mo was on the Badger sideline. But later on the drive Tolzien was sacked on first down, with the clock running they ran the ball on second down for a yard, and then a pass for 7 or 8 leaving fourth and 1. Guts earlier, but a field goal here because the second quarter was ending. 14 minutes, countless yards and 3 points. It was timely defense, and a whole lot of, come on, man!

Damn! I was pulling for the Badgers (as I was for the rest of the bigten). The thing the badgers did that I questioned was:

Clock management at the end of the 2nd quarter.
John Clay still out of condition with a month to get ready (that's why he didn't play more).

Anyway, great season for the Badgers and it was good to see one of the little brothers stepping up and slapping big brother (Ohio State/Penn St).

I should have put up the sarcasm emoticon. I was trying to give Bielema a back-handed, insincere benefit of the doubt for going for two against us.

I wondered why the Badgers walked into the game with the exact same game plan they had used all year? TCU had 30 days to review tape and coach against what had been done and could only hope WI comes in with almost zero changes. You had 30 days to get creative.

The thing that surprised me is that Wisconsin didn't run anything back against the grain, which they did periodically during the regular season to slow down pursuit. I thought a reverse or two with Gilreath may have done wonders.

The Big Butthead gagged, choked, and finally died by his own hand. He played not to lose instead of playing to win. In the end, the two point attempt was simply a symptom of the bigger problem--BB himself.

A monster pain in the arse ego, combined with the inability to be flexible or listen to the ideas of others will doom this guy in the end. And we all will be dancing on his psuedo-grave.

You have it half right. It is his ability to listen and be flexible that has made him one of the best coaches in America. He does have a big ego, as do all good coaches. Nothing like the ego Alvarez had though.

The obsession on this board about a 2 point conversion in a blowout that happened 3 months ago is comical and quite entertaining.

TCU played a little bit better and won the game. That is all that happened on New Years day.

The obsession on this board about a 2 point conversion in a blowout that happened 3 months ago is almost as comical as a the obsession of a badger fan trolling a gopher football message board after they lose the Rose Bowl. Now, that's funny.
