If the Gophers can continue doing what they’ve been doing, this seems like the first conference game in which they might actually be favored. A win against a struggling team like the Illini might not count for much. But a win is a win, and these guys don’t want the dubious distinction of being the first Minnesota team to finish without a conference win.
And to avoid that, preying on the susceptible Illini doesn’t seem like too much to ask for.
