there are 2-3 threads by pantherhawk slam dunking the Gophers ( what else is new) what really irked me was a personal attack on Gray, the names of his children, and what a discredit he is because he has a blended family. It is really pretty shameful of the Badger fans that put gasoline on the fire. I can certainly understand the tit for tat that goes back and forth regarding each football program, but a malicious attack on a kid that has been a model student and a credit to the university is IMO uncalled for. Why the moderators allow that garbage in text is beyond me. It is absolutely pathetic.

Some of it is borderline racist and all of it speaks of really low class. Then again, it's Wisconsin.

Here's a novel idea: If it bothers you that much, don't read their board.

Agree. Have never understood the need to check out other schools' message boards, especially those of bitter rivals. What does one expect to accomplish?

My buddy? I think I went to his tailgate like 4 years ago in Madison and probably couldn't pick him out of a line up.
Natster.....you're right about one thing. He should be in a lineup. The guy is a racist. His comments about the fans sitting in back of the Gopher bench when Westbrook did a job on the Badgers in Madison were right out of a KKK rally

I very occasionally visit other teams' boards, as in once or twice every few months, usually to see what they think about significant events in Big Ten football/basketball. I went on a Michigan board after we played them in the Big Ten tourney this year to see what they thought about barely pulling one out over 9th-in-conference Minnesota, and was surprised to see most of them saying that they merely took care of business against a lesser opponent, instead of the "We were outplayed for 90% of the game and if Evan Smotrycz misses that three, we lose the game" that I was expecting/hoping for, the outcome of the game never seemed to be in question to them from what they were saying. I also went to an Illinois board to see what they thought of Bruce Weber getting fired, I checked a couple other boards to see what they thought about Mbakwe's season-ending injury during the Dayton game this past season, I went to Buckyville once after our basketball game in Madison, as I was only able to see the last 10-15 minutes of the second half, and apparently we had a significant lead that game and there was some questionable/inconsistent officiating (which the Wisconsin fans seemed to agree with actually). I also went to the VCU board when it was first being talked about that we would be poaching Norwood Teague away from them.

I wish there was a message board for Big Ten athletics in general, because I really enjoy civil discussion with fans of other teams, to see what their expectations are for their team in the upcoming season, what they think about my team, the conference as a whole etc.

Like I said at the start of this post, I very rarely go to other teams' message boards, and I don't have accounts on any of them, but it can be interesting to see what the other team's fans think about the game that your team just played/is playing against them. (Nebraska fans expressed sympathy for us during that whole "fumble for a first down" thing that happened on 3rd down in our game against them in 2011, said that the Huskers didn't deserve that first down.)

SS, for someone who is as into college basketball as a whole as you are, I think you might enjoy checking other boards from time to time to see what they think of the various happenings around the country in basketball.

There are idiots on the internet, especially message boards. Sad that a guy who would say that crap exists in the world. What a waste.

Who I this fool they call Pantherhawk anyway?

You can google pantherhawk and learn quite a bit about the legendary Iowa troll, he is definitely the next 40 year old virgin, and also a lightsaber enthusiast.

The more everyone just ignores him, the better chance he will just go away.

Yup. The most well-rounded of us Gopher/sports fans are ones that tend to frequent more than just one board. It's a generalization, but it leans far more toward the truth than not. I don't frequent Wisky/Iowa boards (outside of the Packer board), but I do post fairly often at other boards (HuskerMax, PackersHome, etc) because it broadens my horizons/knowledge.

A quick check reveals that Rupe isnt exactly a casual visitor to BuckyVille as his 4874 total posts and 18 visits in one day will attest.

Show me the 4874 posts and 18 visits. Better yet, go back to Beckyville

I prefer to get that information via the media outlets in other towns -- Champaign News-Gazette, Lansing State Journal, Detroit Free Press, Chicago Tribune, etc. -- as well as the usual online suspects. ... ESPN, CBS Sportsline, CNN-SI, Sporting News, etc. A lot less rubes (not you) to sift through in those places.

CFN was good until scout bought it out. Going to another fans board to defend the "honor" of the program is turrible. That is why we laugh at the badger fans here.

Who I this fool they call Pantherhawk anyway?

He's an IA fan who, I truly believe, has chosen to pick on the Gophers because, in his mind, we are the only thing more pathetic than him.....and he knows how weak and pathetic he is. He's just an internet big talker who if was ever confronted in person, would wet himself and start crying, begging, and pleading to not get the living crap beat out of him.

His mother already beats the crap out of him for associating with Art.

That dude really needs to get laid. I might just know the perfect guy for him too.

Get over it. That is a rival site. We bash on our rivals here and they will do the same. It's pretty pathetic that you need to come over here and whine about it. That is exactly what they want. Just ignore it.

I'm not sure why ruppert is bent out of shape about the post on beckyville, it was made by an Iowa fan.. good old pantherhawk
