Three-star defensive tackle Beau Allen (Shorewood, Minn./Minnetonka) named four programs that stand out for ESPN affiliate Web site IrishSportsDaily.com.

"In no particular order, I have Minnesota, Wisconsin, Notre Dame and Stanford. I'm not sure whether or not I'm going to add a fifth to that, but I think a school like UCLA or Northwestern could possibly take that fifth spot."

Allen intends to make official visits before deciding and does not have a timetable for his announcement.

Last fall, the 6-foot-3, 290-pound prospect registered 47 tackles, 11 tackles for loss and three sacks.

Must be a very bright student academically. It would be huge to get a metro area athlete that is a national recruit and gifted in the classroom and on the football field to stay home and play at the U. He sounds like exactly the type of athlete we need in Dinkytown.
