Since the 2007-08 season (including teams' 2009-10 nonconference schedules), only 1 of the 73 BCS-conference programs has failed to play a fellow "Big 6" opponent on its home floor(s). That program is Cincinnati. Here's a breakdown on which programs have proven to be the most & least willing to schedule home BCS opponents.

A promise. Once I complete my BCS nonconference schedule breakdowns -- boring a lot of you to tears, I know -- it'll be October & I'll be more than ready to talk about the 5 best months of the sporting calendar (November-March).

Where's FOT?

Man these schedules have been to my "liking" mister phony insider.

Unreal.

For what it's worth, call me gullible, I sincerely believe the nonconference home schedule will be upgraded significantly next season, especially in light of the comments coming out of Lawrence (Kansas) and New Jersey (Seton Hall). I'd define "significantly" as having 3 opponents (instead of 1, i.e. Saint Joe's) who'd have a prayer of beating the Gophers. Obviously, the ACC Challenge opponent would be 1 of those 3.

I hope we're not having the same conversation next summer when the 2010-011 schedule is released. I think a lot of us are expecting the Gophers to reach a truly elite status (legitimately competing for a Big 10 title, Elite 8) in 2010-11, so I would expect the (home) schedule to be adjusted accordingly.
