Anyone know why a group of the barnyard has taken to wearing what appear to be random NBA jerseys? I've seen it multiple times this year, and thought maybe someone here could shed some light.

Didn't have to repress all memories of this game, so actually remembered to ask...

I want to know that too. I brought a friend to the game last night and he asked me what that is about and I didn't have a clue.

One guy up front had an orange syracuse jersey on as well.

F*ing stupid, Barnyard. Wouldn't ever see it in East Lansing or Madison. Quit it.

Yup, don't understand it at all. Not a good look.

Why? You'd never see that at Cameron Indoor, sh!t you'd never see that at Wisconsin or Iowa State.

I am a student here at the U and I have been at every game this year in the student section and I was talking about the exact same thing. It drives me nuts. You are at a GOPHER BASKETBALL GAME not an NBA game. I do not know if they just want attention or what but it is pathetic. I have seen the people that go all out with Gopher apparel and that is great you are showing great school spirit but when you are wearing a brown Cavs jersey as a student of the University of Minnesota I do not know why you wear that. It is stupid and pathetic and I would love for it to stop.

I don't get the NBA jerseys either, but seriously, calling someone's apparel at a sporting event pathetic? Come on. Better that than having no one show up at all.

It is just a small group of students that do it. They don't have to show up at all for all I care. A good 99% of the students at the game wear gopher stuff. They can get out of there.

While I don't really get it I agree with with Scher. I care more about students showing up for the games than what they wear when they do show up. I can't be sure but it does look like most are wearing gopher gear under those jersey's so who cares? They are there making noise which is what counts. Whats next? Getting on the kids that wear the animal costumes because they don't have gold or maroon M's stitched in plain sight?

I don't care about NBA jerseys , but stay out of the Gopher student section with another college jersey on.

Take a deep breath, everyone. We shall overcome.

Hopefully Dayton will catch wind of this and demand some changes.

I think it's dumb, but I also don't really care.

Don't really get it... doesn't bother me either.

I've got an old gold #21 jersey I'll have to donate to them when I remember.

It's up to the rest of the student section to make them feel as stupid as the image they are portraying.

I don't really care about if it's acceptable or not. I just want to know what they are trying to demonstrate. It could be funny knowing the back story. Does anyone know why, or what they are trying to say?

"Just because" does not make sense to me because then there wouldn't be such a big group.

Check out @jerseyboys_umn

Its just a group of guys who have been going to games the past 4 years standing in the front and are looking for a way to have a good time in what has been so far a disappointing year. There were kids who used to wear gorilla suits, don't take it too seriously.

A-hah.. that makes sense. Yeah let the guys have fun.

Now, what's next? A coed comes to the game wearing no panties. Someone would complain that she wasn't wearing maroon or gold panties. :cheer::cheer::cheer:

This would be cool if, you know, the Gophers were well known for getting players into the league. Wearing ex-Gopher professional jerseys would actually mean something.

Pretty stupid idea overall, but nothing to get too upset about.

I call Trevor Winter!

I don't really care one way or the other.

Although I give them a C for originality and an F for the group name. At least put some effort into it guys.

Don't care but the gorilla guys were awesome.

I had first seen the Orange Syracuse jersey, and I thought, "Oh, are these guys wearing the jerseys of teams we beat in past NCAA tournament games?", but then I saw the others were NBA jerseys and I didn't get it.

I'm not going to state an opinion until Dr. Don's finger in the air tells him which side to rip!!!!
