Banham breaks Whalen's career scoring mark for Gophers women's basketball

Gophers senior Rachel Banham broke the school’s all-time women’s basketball scoring record Saturday evening against Auburn in the San Juan Shootout.

Banham, from Lakeville, entered the game 10 points away from Lindsay Whalen’s 2,285 career mark. Banham eclipsed it by two with a bucket early in the third quarter against the Tigers.

Looks like the ladies staged an epic 4th quarter comeback only to fall two points short in overtime. Must have been a great game in Puerto Rico.
