Badgers kicking off 2015 schedule at Cowboys Stadium vs Alabama

Sounds like the type of game Strange Brew wanted when he was here. Good luck with that one SIN-BAD because Bama is gonna steam roll you.

Go Gophers!

UW now thinks they can hang with Bama eh? Good luck with that....

It'll be weird rooting for the tide for the first time in years...but I'm sure I'll come to terms with it in no time.

I want Wisky to win that game, and then 0-fer the rest of the season.

this one could be real painful to watch... for bucky fans! tide are gonna roll in this one!

Nothing ever goes the Gophers way, Wisconsin is gonna win a hard fought game in the trenches and receive all the glory from the media about bringing back the B1G by beating Alabama. Ok, I just threw up in my mouth a little bit, Becky is gonna get rolled in the Jerrydome, and I cant wait to see it.

Bold move. Time will tell if it will help elevate Bucky's program. I'd imagine it will be used to try and entice top recruits. If Alabama shunned them, a recruit may want to be part of beating them. It's been said there is no such thing as bad publicity. If Bucky were to get spanked, I'm not so sure.

The Badgers have been in negotiations with Alabama for about 6 months, well before Bielema left.

Going to be a lot of fun to go down to Dallas.

Badgers are also 1-0 against Alabama, dominating the series to date.

Tell you what. If Alabama wins, you agree to never post here again, and if wisky wins, I'll promise to never post on whatever wisky fan board you frequent. Deal? O.K. So now that we're in agreement, we'll set a moratorium that you won't post here, and I won't post there until this game is played.

That is a great agreement. Thank you for agreeing to my terms.

Memo to Madison. The Jerry Dome is acutally on the Western Campus of The University of Alabama. Its right on I-20 about 8 hours from Tuscaloosa. This is a home game for The Tide. And here is a little factoid, Alabama is The Two Time Defending National Champion. They have won 3 of the last 4 National Championships. In six years Saban is 68-13. They live for this. My two words? Good Luck

Wasn't Alvarez trying to schedule a game like this prior to the coaching shake up? Could have sworn I saw that somewhere, but he originally wanted a home and home type set up instead of a "neutral" site.

As are the Gophers.

I will very much enjoy watching the Vadgers get destroyed. Something like 55-13 is my early prediction.

2015? some of us here will be a carbon body print by that time.

So we have people in here ripping them for having the balls to schedule a team like Alabama? At least they are willing to take a shot at a quality non-conf opponent even if it probably does mean they lose the game. They want to be on the National stage and in the spotlight. The game will almost certainly be the top game and shown everwhere.

I hate the Badgers but I will never knock a team for wanting to be and play the best. I would rather see that kind of scheduling practice then one that looks to secure easy wins in order to pad the record.

+1 MNVCGUY - It's silly to try and hate on the badgers for scheduling a big game. Do I think they will win and/or not get embarassed? Probably not, hard to say what can happen in a couple years, but this will be a game I'd watch for sure.

Badger arrogance at it's finest. Ask Michigan if they now think it was a good idea to play Alabama and get physically pummeled in the first game of the season.

Becky loses 3 consecutive Rose Bowl games, a new coach, & they think they can hang with the Crimson Tide?
Bwahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!

Was it arrogance when the U scheduled home and home with USC? Why would you assume then that Alvarez is being arrogant? They will probably get a payout from the "neutral" site game and a guaranteed national network broadcast for an OOC game. They've personally demonstrated that B1G record is what matters in getting to the CCG and Rose Bowl, so why not take a moon shot in OOC?

How would it have helped Michigan not to play Bama (or ND) in OOC? I don't think they sustained any long term injuries during that game either. They ended up losing their bowl game anyway, so cupcaking their schedule up for a higher bowl probably wouldn't have helped. It also wouldnt have made a difference in getting to the B1G CCG unless you think that skipping Bama would have better prepared them to beat Nebraska. Michigan's problem was they were still a bit young, both in experience and in Hoke's system, and they happened to play the top 3 teams (OSU included) in the country.

Stones can be thrown when the U has paid off its schedule downgrading fees.

This all comes down to attitude. I guarantee Alvarez expects the Badgers to be one of the big boys and I don't think he is content with the idea of playing second fiddle to the so called helmet schools. They have been to three Rose Bowls in a row, we can bash them all we want but they are clearly doing things right out there. Sure they benefitted from OSU being out of the picture this season but how often in the last 50 f'in years have we even sniffed the Rose Bowl?

For them they want to be on the National stage and apparently the new guy is on board with that or this game would not have gotten scheduled (that or he has an AD that won't put up with ducking opponents for fear of losing). Any time a major team is willing to schedule a legit non-conf opponent and not hide behind creampuff U I applaud them for it. I still don't like them and wouldn't be caught dead wearing a Badger shirt but I respect them being willing to take on a tough non-conf opponent.

By the end of the Michigan game it was easier to count which Michigan players had been injured during the game than had a significant impact on the outcome. They lost their starting cornerback for the season. Lost their starting tight end. Lewan was injured. Should I go on? Check your facts.

As for Brewster, he scheduled USC for recruiting reasons and stated as much. Trying to stand out on the recruiting trail. As for Wisconsin, they're just plain arrogant. Don't believe it, just spend 1 minutes talking to any one of their fans. Anyone.

I agree. Good for the Badgers. Like you, I don't particularly care for them or their fans, but kudos to them for having the collective cajones to get after it.

Bronco Nagurski once scored a fourth quarter TD to beat Wisconsin wearing a truss to take pressure off of his cracked vertebrae. This is a proud program with seven national championships. Fear of injury should not be cited as a valid reason for not scheduling someone. Not for the Gophers or for the Badgers.
