We're at the 1/3 mark of the (Gophers) B1G regular season. The big question is -- assuming the Gophers can sweep Rutgers -- can they win 3 other games probably needed to earn the #11 seed and a 3rd meeting with the hapless Scarlet Knights? That would be the Gophers' easiest path to Thursday's 2nd round.

Wednesday, March 9 (1st Round)
#12 Illinois (1-4) vs. #13 GOPHERS (0-6), 3:30 (ESPN2)
#11 Wisconsin (2-4) vs. #14 Rutgers (0-6), 6 (BTN)

Thursday, March 10 (2nd Round)
#8 Michigan State (3-3) vs. #9 Nebraska (3-3), 11 (BTN)
#5 Ohio State (4-2) vs. Illinois/GOPHERS winner, 1:25 (BTN)
#7 Northwestern (3-3) vs. #10 Penn State, 5:30 (ESPN2)
#6 Michigan (3-2) vs. Wisconsin/Rutgers winner, 7:55 (ESPN2)

Friday, March 11 (Quarterfinals)
#1 Iowa (5-0) vs. Michigan State/Nebraska winner, 11 (ESPN)
#4 Purdue (4-2) vs. Ohio State/Illinois/GOPHERS winner, 1:25 (ESPN)
#2 Indiana (5-0) vs. Northwestern/Penn State winner, 5:30 (BTN)
#3 Maryland (5-1) vs. Michigan/Wisconsin/Rutgers winner, 7:55 (BTN)

Well need to beat Rutgers twice, need to beat Illinois, after that the next best chance at a win is probably Wisconsin. Do they have a rabbit or two they can pull out of their ass? Guess that's why we play the games

With our luck, we'll get Wisconsin in an opening round game.

I'd be fine with that. For one, it would be the result of Bucky having a really lousy year. Secondly, on a neutral court they may be one of the few teams the Gophers could beat.

Agree, if we play Badgers in Indy there's potential to have something to hang our hat on at the very end of a historically lousy season. Not much to feel good about, I know, but it'd be something.

That said, I'd bet the farm Badgers won't be playing on the first day. They're improving, they'll win enough games to avoid "Woeful Wednesday".
