There's no sugar-coating it. Another lame nonconference slate put together by Bill Carmody. Disappointing considering the expectations in Evanston. Save for a win over Baylor (and perhaps Creighton) and at least one legitimate quality win at the Charleston Classic, this buffet of cupcakes won't help the Wildcats much if they land on the NCAA tourney bubble.
I get the feeling it's now or never for NW in terms of finally landing its first NCAA Tournament bid. Barring injury, after the 2011-12 season there'll be no leading man like Kevin Coble, Juice Thompson or John Shurna to spearhead a Wildcats push.
