Awkward wim over Illionois proves Indiana not a contender

Indiana fans rushed the floor like they just won the Big Ten championship or something similar. I realize it was their first win over a ranked team in awhile, but beating #21 team at HOME? A program with the history of IU? Seemed a bit out of character to me...

out of character for a school that rushed the floor after beating unranked Minnesota last season?
 

I've never really understood the hate that is put upon fans that rush the court when they "shouldn't." What is the downside of fans having fun?
 




Indiana fans should be embarrassed. Ditto for Providence's fans the other night when they beat Villanova. But especially Hoosiers fans. My, how the mighty have fallen.

You would think they had just returned from cutting down the nets at a regional final, or at a minimum knocked off #1 OSU.

This is (was) the flagship basketball program in the conference. It doesn't help that Crean is a chump, IMO.

EDIT: Just saw that this video was posted in the other IU-ILL thread. Sorry for the repeat. It's still great, though. Tommy raising his hands, hugging people, jumping up and down...hilarious. Congrats. You just beat a bubble team at home.
 

It's obvious that IU hoops has fallen but either way that's a huge win for Indiana, Cream needs to show that the team has improved by the end of the season or he will be on the hot seat. It's kind of sad considering that Cream is a great coach and the storied b-ball program. They have a big time recruiting class next year too and I'm guessing in a couple of years they will be a legit contender in the Big Ten.
 

I watched the game last night. It was a fun one. If that's what happened when they beat Illinois Lord knows what will happen if they should beat us.

I'd like to see that kind of atmosphere at the barn one of these days. Maybe when we beat Ohio State...
 



I cant really hate on them for having this much fun after a win like that. Hell, I was jumping around for joy when the Gopher football team beat a so-so Illinois team this year. :)

And, I'll be honest, I was a maniac when the Gophers beat Iowa this year. And, some people rushed the field. Granted, it was a trophy game against a rival, but still. When your team stinks, you have to enjoy every good moment.
 

The fans were a definite "6th" player so I'm alright with them rushing the court to show their appreciation to the players for the gutsy performance. The win wasn't pretty, but it was gutsy.
