Austin...

Still get to watch him a couple more games at least!

Any chance he'll be considered late in the NBA draft? He's got the size, can shoot pretty well, is an athlete and a great defender.

What is your favorite Austin memory?

Mine would be the three point play against Illinois that sent the game into OT his sophomore season. Just ridiculous that the Illini would foul when he was going for two and there was very little time left.

Great seeing him play the way he did tonight. Hopefully he keeps it up and goes out on a high note.

That was a hell of a way to go out on his home court. He carried the team tonight...got to admit that I stood and clapped when he came out of the game at the end.

Probably not since it's such a deep draft. He could work his way up through the NBDL or overseas though. He seems to be a hardworker and his dad's connections won't hurt.

That one is very high on the list. The dunk above as well. The 5 straight 3s against Northwestern, similar to tonight. I'll just always remember the professionalism he carried himself with his entire time here. From the airball 3s his freshman year, to the clutch defensive plays, to the streaky shooting, through all of it, the guy was Grade A class and I'm happy he's been able to end his Barn career on a really high note.

Favorite memory. Somebody help me out here. I think it was last year he made like 6 threes in a row... something like that.

Just posted this in the game thread:

Austin is now 6 steals short of tying Newbern's career steals record. He's also 7 assists short of 300 which would make him just one of five Gophers ever with over 1,000 points and 300 assists.

He has over 400 rebounds and 200 steals also. Wonder if any Gopher has ever had over 1,000 points, 400 rebounds, 300 assists, and 200 steals?

Geez, I wish he could get a 5th year of eligibility.

Austin=100% class and he saved his best for his last show in the Barn.

I hope he can continue to lead and go out a big winner in NYC

This is awesome. Austin could be SOOOO frustrating, but after his 4 years here it's hard to be too mad at him.

The NIT still stinks, but this is truly making the best out of a bad situation. Walking off the court for the last time a winner with a 30-point game. Good for him. Thanks for being a Gopher, Austin!

Gonna be tough to replace that dude I know that. It sucked seeing him (and Mav) go down the tunnel one last time. Not only a great player but a great person off the court.

One of my favorite players in the past 50 years of Gopher basketball. Class act. He got more out of his ability than almost any player I can remember. Thanks for the memories Austin, you will be missed.

The shot that beat Iowa at the barn last year has to be up on the list as well.

As others have mentioned....class act. He will be successful in whatever he decides to do.

I couldn't agree more. He has been one of my favorites as well. He is one guy that you definitely know he is going to make something out of himself down the road, be it in basketball or something else. He has been a shining light for the U and he will be deeply missed. Due to his versatility, he is going to be one of the most difficult players to replace. I hope he keeps his confidence high, and continues carries the Gophs to the NIT title. Even though Im sure that was not his ultimate goal coming here, but a good way to end it non the less. If your dealt lemons, make some lemonade.

I think he will be in the NBA next year. Smart, good defender, and family lineage will get him a shot.

I suspect many coaches value coachable, stress free players at the end of the bench in the NBA.

Tough to get a spot on any NBA team. I used to think Dre was the better NBA prospect but I think that is clearly Austin now. Maybe he is a second round pick, or gets invited to summer camp.

Hands down my favorite Gopher the last three years. Glad I was there to see him dominate his last home game.
