Austin is 2-22 from the three point line last 6 games and is offering nothing offensively. At one point he was our most consistent player. What the heck happened?

He just needs to work his way out of this slump. Until he does, we need to have either Welsh or Mav on the court with him. With Austin, Coleman, And Williams on the court at the same time you have 3 guys that cannot shoot in positions where you need shooting.

Tubby mentioned a migraine problem he had for the last few weeks and how he is the hardest worker as far as shooting practice he has. Said it seems like he spaces out a little with noise and bright light of games.

Something like this happened last year too. He has a jumper that is really perfect form but, it just stops going in.

The whole team needs to live at the basket offensively. Nobody can shoot from outside with any consistency

I think the brutal chant the Hawkeye fans directed at him made a big difference. "T-shirt...t-shirt"

I think it's gotten to his head moreso than anything else. He needs to be mentally confident and tough, not a pu$$y like he is now.

Btw, 3-36 from 3 since the shot vs Iowa. That's 8% along with his additional turnovers.

Ear plugs and sunglasses may be the way to go.

Worst part was he was shooting in the high 40's for a percentage from the 3 point line for much of the season. The entire team is shooting poor right now. If Austin played even average this team wins four more games.

You have to think this is a major factor.

I love Austin, but I don't know what you do with the guy right now - especially if this is a medical deal.

I just remember him clanking shoots at the 3 pt shooting contest at Mid night madness in october...

He must have had the migraine that night, or maybe it was the noise. I was there as well- he missed all 15 shots that night-IIRC- it was remarkable, never seen that before.

Had more airballs tonight than he's had steals and blocks combined over the past 3. Been completely invisible other than jacking up ugly threes. Needed him to show up tonight.

It wasn't the noise. You and I and the 32 other people in attendance weren't making a whole lot of noise. The lights were on, though, if I recall correctly.

The quickest way to regain confidence in your shot is to actually see the ball going through the basket. The best way to do that is to make sure that your first shots the next game are high percentage, very makeable shots (layups, short jumpers, off. rebounds) that come out of a good offensive flow, not just jacking up forced long distance shots. The problem is -- we don't have any offensive flow that produces high percentage shots. Unless we get fast break dunks, our offense doesn't get anyone in a flow where they know they're going to get good high percentage shots. If you're 2 for 22 from the arc, don't come out jacking up 3s unless it's an open look out of a designed play.

Or getting to the free throw line. A perfect chance to do that was in transition on the botched 3 on 1 where he passed it backward to Andre instead of going strong to the basket (in my best Trent Tucker voice) and laying it in and probably getting fouled. He had great position to do that. It tells me he doesn't have much confidence. (Shocking.)
